While the list is endless, the latest celebrity to soon tie the knot (already legally married though) and become Mister and Missus is Sushmita Sen's brother, Rajeev Sen, and telly town's queen, Charu Asopa. While we were eagerly looking upto Rajeev Sen and Charu Asopa to catch glimpses from their upcoming wedding, it was on June 09, 2019, when this couple gave us a pleasant surprise. Charu and Rajeev had announced to the world that they are now legally married and posted pictures from their do. With he looking dapper in all white and she looking straight out of heaven in a red saree, both Rajeev and Charu took each other as their lawfully-wedded 'forever'!
It was yesterday night (June 14, 2019), when we saw Rajeev Sen pamper his bride by feeding her water, while she was busy applying mehendi. And today, June 15, 2019, it is time for their guests to get their hands adorned with beautiful designs. And for the same, Charu Asopa dressed herself in a beautiful beige-colored, lacy-blingy, sequinned lehenga, while her Mister, Rajeev Sen looked uber cool as he complemented her in a beige kurta-churidar, also keeping his shade game on point as they sipped on mocktails. Charu Asopa had once shared in an interview that she had always dreamt of having a Christian wedding. And she did live upto her dream as she was dressed as a Christian bride for her engagement yesterday and had looked stunning in a white gown with a tulle skirt and lace detailed sleeve-corset, while her groom, Rajeev, had complemented her in a beige blazer and dark pants. Isn’t it amazing? When Rajeev Sen and Charu Asopa hadn’t confirmed their relationship yet, a source had shared with a media portal, “Yes, Charu and Rajeev are dating each other. Their relationship is very tender at this stage. Both of them are not ready to talk about their relationship in public as of now and are taking things slowly. They are really fond of each other. And it was then, in an interview with the Bombay Times, Charu Asopa shared many details about their wedding. She shared, "It will be an intimate affair with just 20-25 people each from our respective families in attendance. Our families had originally zeroed in on a date in December, but Rajeev, during a conversation with me, said that it’s too far. That’s how we advanced the date to June 16. Forget others, even our families were surprised to learn about our decision. We will have a reception in Mumbai depending on the availability of our families and friends."
About the kind of wedding they are planning to have, Rajeev Sen and Charu Asopa was quoted as saying, "I have always dreamt of having a white wedding. So, we plan to have a Christian-themed engagement and I will wear a white gown for it. The idea is to start with white — the colour stands for peace and purity — and then add colours to our functions and costumes, with us in red on our wedding day. We will be colour-coordinated for all our functions. While the pheras will happen according to Rajasthani and Bengali rituals, the theme for the wedding will be royal Rajasthani. I am in a shopping mode now. I haven’t taken up any new project, as I want to spend time with Rajeev after marriage."
Charu Asopa spoke about her camaraderie with her soon-to-be-nanad, Sushmita Sen and had shared, "You won’t believe that I impersonated Sushmita Sen, when she was crowned Miss Universe, at a fancy dress competition in my school. I was very young then. I showed her the picture and she said that I looked adorable in it (smiles). Imagine the stroke of luck, she will be my sister-in-law soon. She told us to never sleep over a fight, and resolve our differences without any delay. Of course, like any other couple, Rajeev and I, too, have our share of fights, but we also resolve it in no time. He is very mature. We respect each other and we are good friends before anything else. Sushmita didi told me that jab aap bohot comfortable ho jaate ho kisi ke saath then you should know that he is the right guy for you.
