Global icon, Priyanka Chopra and her baby girl, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas did their first magazine photoshoot for British Vogue. Undoubtedly, their stunning glimpses from the same are winning millions of hearts worldwide. However, in a conversation with the magazine, Priyanka also opened up about the tough time post embracing motherhood via surrogacy.
On January 19, 2023, Priyanka Chopra took to her IG handle and shared a scintillating picture with her daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, from their first magazine shoot. In the picture, the doting mommy wore a red-hued body-hugging dress which featured full sleeves and a turtle-neck. She completed her look with a unique necklace, dewy makeup and wavy tresses. On the other hand, the baby girl looked cute as a button in a matching coloured tunic dress. Sharing the mesmerising picture, she wrote:
"Another one of our many firsts together… #MM. British Vogue, February 2023."

In an interview with the magazine, Priyanka Chopra opened up about the reason why she opted for surrogacy and how much painful it was when people accused her of her decision. She mentioned that she had already made a tough coat for herself to deal with the trolling surrounding her. However, she revealed that it was painful to deal with the accusations which were made on her for renting someone else's womb for having her daughter via surrogacy. However, now she wouldn't take the reactions very easily as it concerns her daughter. She said:
“I’ve developed a tough hide when people talk about me. But it’s so painful when they talk about my daughter. I’m like, ‘Keep her out of it.’ I know what it felt like to hold her little hands when they were trying to find her veins. So no, she’s not going to be gossip. I’ve been really protective of this chapter of my life with my daughter. Because it’s not about my life only. It’s hers too.”
For the unversed, in January 2022, Priyanka Chopra and her hubby, Nick Jonas embraced parenthood for the first time with the arrival of their baby girl, Malti via surrogacy. However, she was born prematurely and was kept in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for 100 days after her birth. In the same conversation, Priyanka revealed her baby girl was so small in size after her birth and talked about how the nurses had taken proper care of the little one, which was simply unmissable. She added:
“I was in the OR [operating room] when she came out. She was so small, smaller than my han. I saw what the intensive-care nurses do. They do God’s work. Nick and I were both standing there as they intubated her. I don’t know how they even found what they needed [in her tiny body] to intubate her.”

Further, she concluded by revealing the real reason for opting surrogacy to have her baby. She mentioned having medical complications, which is why surrogacy was important. However, she felt proud of her decision and concluded by saying:
“I didn’t know if she would make it or not. I had medical complications. This was a necessary step, and I’m so grateful I was in a position where I could do this. Our surrogate was so generous, kind, lovely and funny, and she took care of this precious gift for us for six months.”
