Siddharth Chopra and Ishita Kumar had gotten rokafied in February 2019, and talks were on that the duo will enter the bond of holy matrimony in the last week of April 2019. Only when we were hoping to catch a glimpse of Ishita’s picture as a bride, did we see her recovering from a painful surgery at a hospital. And then came a much saddening confirmation that Ishita Kumar and Siddharth Chopra’s wedding has been called off. So much so, that Ishita Kumar had deleted her Instagram account for a short while, with Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Siddharth Chopra unfollowing her on Instagram.
Ishita Kumar had then taken to Instagram and posting an all-happy picture of herself, sipping a drink, had written, “Cheers to new beginnings. With a goodbye kiss to beautiful endings.” While this cryptic caption had provided all possible evidence about their cancelled wedding, Ishita’s parents’, Nidhi Kumar and Anirudh Kumar’s comments on her post definitely added to the fire. Post their breakup, everyone has been very eager to know about what Ishita Kumar is upto in life these days. After landing herself in a job in London, Ishita is trying her best to get her life back in shape. And hence, it was on Mother’s Day 2019, when Ishita took to Instagram and posted a heartfelt note for her mother, thanking her for being there in all the trying times. She wrote, “Happy Mother's day Mom You've always been so strong and supported me in all my decisions, Specially in the past 1 month Always grateful for your blessings and support.” To which, her doting mommy replied, “I will always be there for you.. It was long after speculations were slowly converting to confirmations that Siddharth Chopra and Ishita Kumar’s wedding has been called off, when the former’s mother, Madhu Chopra had finally confirmed the same. In an interview with SpotBoyE, the star mommy had shared, “My son Siddharth said he was not ready for marriage yet. He explained he needed more time." Another source close to the family has shared with the same portal, “This arranged marriage was being pushed a bit in haste.” Earlier, confirming Siddharth and Ishita’s cancelled wedding, Madhu ji had shared with Pinkvilla, “The wedding had been mutually called off.”
It was on May 02, 2019, when the Bombay Times had contacted Dr Madhu Chopra for details about the ‘postponed/cancelled’ wedding, after the then bride-to-be, Ishita Kumar had posted pictures of herself from a hospital bed, few days before their rumoured wedding. Sharing pictures of blood bottles and bandages on her tummy, Ishita had written, “Recovering from surgery. Very painful but glad it's over.” Speaking about the same, Madhu ji had shared with the portal, “We are disappointed but what can you do when a person is unwell? We wish Ishita a speedy recovery.”
It was on February 2019, hardly two months after Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas’ wedding, came about the first-ever pictures from her little brother, Siddharth Chopra’s roka ceremony. Priyanka had shared a heartfelt post, congratulating Siddharth Chopra and his ‘then’ soon-to-be-missus, Ishita Kumar on their roka. Sharing a picture of the then just-rokafied couple, PeeCee had written, “So proud of my baby brother. Ishita welcome to the family...you are so beautiful together...I wish you both the best for the future!
