Television actress, Priyamvada Kant made her acting debut with the TV serial, Bairi Piya, in 2010. Afterwards, she appeared in various soap operas, including Hamari Saal Leela, Sasural Simar Ka, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hain, Tenali Rama and many more. Moreover, Priyamvada also won the popular reality show, MTV Splitsvilla, season 12. Currently, she is playing an interesting character in the TV show, Woh Toh Hai Albela, along with Shaheer Sheikh and Hiba Nawab and others. Now, in an interview, Priyamvada opened up about what she did when she bagged her first show. She also revealed her parents' contribution to her career.

Priyamvada Kant on not being able to work after her father's demise

In a conversation with ETimes TV, Priyamvada Kant opened up about her journey into the television industry. The actress revealed that she couldn't cope with the grief after her father passed away. Thus, she took a break. Priyamvada shared:

"Yes, of course, I couldn't work for a very long time after my father passed away. But then I took up a show and it was really nice, Tera Mera Saath Rahe."

Priyamvada dedicates her role in her current Tv serial, Woh Toh Hai Albelaa, to her father

In the same conversation, Priyamvada mentioned that the character she is playing in her current show is dedicated to her father, who hailed from Bihar. For the unversed, she is seen portraying the character of 'Chaman Bahar' in the show, Woh Toh Hai Albelaa. And as Priyamvada is a Bihari by birth, she didn't have to learn the language or the accent and got acquainted with it very easily. Elaborating more on it, Priyamvada shared:

"The first reason for choosing the show is that Rajan Sir asked me to do it and I have worked with them. When he was so interested in building a new character on the show, I was very keen and that's why I didn't even think twice even though the language, and everything are very difficult as there are 8-9 mixed languages that have been used. Also, another reason is my dad. He is from Bihar, and I'm a Bihari by birth. But I didn't ever learn how to speak the language. So I would like to dedicate this role to him, I wish my dad could've seen it."

Priyamvada on eloping from college after bagging her first show

Talking about her debut show, Bairi Piya, in 2010, Priyamvada shared that it was the first time she came onscreen. Thus, she has lots of memories associated with it. However, during that time, she was pursuing a master's in a college, when the show's producer had spotted her. She also revealed learning new things on the show's sets and added:

"I have great memories from my first show as it was practically the first time I faced the camera. Something that not a lot of people know, I came to Mumbai to study in college at Sophia's, I got spotted by Balaji and I gave the audition. Then I ran away from college and that's how I started shooting. I had no acting experience, I am a trained classical dancer but I learnt everything on the job. My team was amazing. It was a fabulous experience."

Priyamvada further quipped that even though she was cast in the show, she didn't reveal the same to her college authorities. Instead, she kept telling them that one day she would return, which never happened afterwards. And it was her mother who had helped her get her things out of the college hostel room. Priyamvada stated:

"I was actually doing my post-grad in Mass Comm and I left it halfway. I kept telling the college people that I am going to come back without realising that there were hoardings with my face. I had to call my mom to get my things out of the hostel room. That was one of the most endearing experiences that I have had."
