A father-son relationship is as unique and simple as it sounds! Unlike daughters, sons mostly do not hear their father baring their heart out for them and neither the sons do the same. Most of the things that they want to convey are through mothers or text messages. However, with fathers getting old, sons try their best to break that communication gap and start spending lots of time with them. One such doting pair of father-son is music composer, Pritam Chakraborty and his father, Prabodh Chakraborty. But on May 24, 2020, Prabodh Chakraborty bid goodbye to all his family members and went for the heavenly adobe after his battle with two deadly diseases. The whole entertainment industry had sent their supporting messages to Pritam and his family in this tough time. The tricky and unpleasant thing about this moment is that no relatives and friends can visit and meet the family members in this heartbreaking phase because of coronavirus crisis.
According to the Mumbai Mirror, one of the closest sources to the music composer, Pritam has revealed that his mother, Anuradha Chakraborty and sister were present during the last moment of his father in the hospital. The source stated that “Pritam, his mother and sister were with Prabodh Chakraborty in the hospital till the end. He was suffering from Parkinson and Alzheimer.” The source also added that Pritam’s father was hospitalised and fighting with these two dangerous diseases for the last two years. The last rites of Pritam’s father were held in Amboli with closest family members. Losing a parent is one of the hardest phases of our lives and no wonder Pritam is also going through a rollercoaster of memorable moments with his father. The bond of Pritam with his father was so pure that they were more like friends all the time. In an interview with the IANS, Pritam had once revealed that he’s planning to re-open his father, Prabodh Chakraborty’s music school in West Bengal. The school was earlier closed because of some personal problems and unfortunate circumstances but the music composer had revealed that he wants to do this for his father’s happiness. He had revealed, “I want to re-open my father`s music school. I want to do it for my father. My father had to close down the school and I want to start it again. I will do it in West Bengal only. I want to open it with the same name Unimus Music College. I will try to start in the same place near Park Circus, but if it is not possible, I would look for some other place.”
On November 14, 2017, that was Children’s day, Pritam had taken to his Instagram handle and had shared a beautiful picture of his father, Prabodh Chakraborty walking on the beach. The old man was looking no less than a dapper in his pink t-shirt, khaki trousers, side bag, shades on, and a stick on his right hand. With a quirky smile for the camera, Prabodh ji was looking young, fit, and fine in this picture. Along with the photo, Pritam had also written a caption and had revealed that his father is the youngest soul of his entire family. His caption could be read as “Wishing the youngest soul in the family a very #HappyChildrensDay!! Love you Baba. Happy Children’s Day to the child inside each & every one of you.” Take a look.
