Popular television actor, Pearl V Puri, who had started his career in Hindi Television in 2013, however, his shot to fame was his show, Phir Bhi Na Maane... Badtameez Dil, in 2015 on Star Plus, got arrested by Mumbai police on June 4, 2021, under an alleged rape case. The actor has worked in famous shows like Naagin 3, Bepanah Pyaar and Brahmarakshas 2, which is the reason why it was a shocker for the entertainment industry and his massive fanbase.

According to the reports, Pearl V Puri was arrested by the Mumbai Police late at night on June 4, 2021. A girl and his family have accused the actor of rape and molestation, and several industry sources have confirmed the news. Bollywood Bubble had also quoted its source as saying, "Pearl has been arrested yesterday (June 4) late-night after a girl and her family filed a rape and molestation case against him in Mumbai. He is now under police custody. We don't know anything apart from this right now."
In an exclusive interview with BollywoodShaadis, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Sanjay Patil dismissed all the ongoing reports and rumours about Naagin 3 actor, Pearl V Puri been granted bail. The commissioner clearly stated that Pearl V Puri has been sent to judicial custody to investigate his involvement in the alleged rape of a minor girl. Sanjay Patil said, "He hasn't been granted bail as yet. He has been sent to judicial custody. As part of the investigation, we will do his medical examination with the court's permission." However, the commissioner also added that so far, they haven't received permission from the court. He added, "We haven't got that permission yet."
Earlier in the day, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Sanjay Patil released a statement in which he revealed some details about the investigation that is going on from their end. He said, "The victim identified the accused recently, and after recording her statement, the accused has been arrested. After the identification of the accused, we have taken him into custody for further investigation." Sanjay Patil also revealed the sections under which the police officials arrested Pearl V Puri. The commissioner stated that Pearl is booked under Sections 376 AB (Punishment for rape on woman under 12 years of age) of the Indian Penal Code, and also under Sections 4, 8, 12, 19, 21 under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
After Pearl V Puri's arrest, his close friend and Naagin 3 co-star, Anita Hassanandani was in utter shock and had come out in the open to support her friend, Pearl. The actress had stated that it is nonsensical news and it cannot be true. Sharing a picture with Pearl on her IG handle, Anita had written, "Woke up to some nonsensical news bout @pearlvpuri I know him! It is NOT true... canNOT be true.... all lies. I'm sure there is more to it. And the truth will be out soon. Love you @pearlvpuri #ISTANDWITHPEARL."
