Now, when it comes to Indian weddings, we all know that the most excited person is the sibling of the bride or groom. And that’s what is happening with Priyanka’s cousin sister, Parineeti Chopra. Seems like she is more excited and is having jitters than her Mimi didi. Bollywood Hungama published an article yesterday which claimed that Parineeti Chopra will not be a bridesmaid in Priyanka’s wedding, and this reporting didn’t go well with Parineeti. She took to Twitter, and tagging the online tabloid wrote, “I urge you - please do better research before printing articles!! @Bollyhungama @priyankachopra.”
It must be mentioned here that Parineeti was one of the first celebrities who posted a photo from Priyanka and Nick’s roka ceremony on August 18, 2018, congratulating her elder sister. She shared the following photo and adorably captioned it, “Today I witnessed the magic and a fairytale. When we were kids, Mimi didi and I used to play “ghar ghar”. We would pretend to be shy brides, have imaginary children, and serve tea to our husbands! cheesy, but it’s because we always believed in the magic of love and hoped we would both find that perfect man for us one day!! Today there was no pretending. I can’t think of a more a perfect man for her. Like I said this morning, there are two ways of judging a human being. One - travel with them, and two, eat with them. Nick, I have done both with you. And so I know you’re perfect for her!! Love her, because she loves you like mad! Protect her, because of shes strong, but a soft soul inside. Parineeti is super-duper excited for Nickyanka’s wedding. In an interview during the promotions of Namaste England, the 30-year-old actress revealed the songs she would be performing during PeeCee’s sangeet ceremony. She said, “I would do Desi Girl, Tune Meri Entriyaan. I would do all her songs, for her.” And further added, “I would do Desi Girl, Tune Mari Entriyaan, Ram Chahe Leela-Leela Chahe Ram, basically all my favourite tracks, and In My City. An English song for the Jonases so that unko bhi samajh aaye kaunsa gaana hum log kar rahe hain. And one I would do Nick’s song; his new song Right Now is very good.”
On Twitter, when a user asked Parineeti, “So, like, is Parineeti Chopra going to steal Nick Jonas’ shoes?” she replied and wrote, “OFF COURSE!!! Already started negotiating my deal with him. And she’s my witness @priyankachopra.” Speaking of the joota chupai ritual, Parineeti also revealed a media portal that she is going to ask for a fortune from her jiju.
She said, “I was sitting with Nick only two nights ago and I was telling him that we needed to lock in our final amount. I quoted $5 million. He said ‘OK, I’ll give you $10.” Adding further, she remarked, “So you can see the price negotiation is going to be difficult. But main bahut bahut paise lene waali hoon because I have to be his favourite saali.”
In an interview with Hindustan Times, after Nickyanka’s roka, Parineeti revealed that she had always thought whom would her Mimi didi marry, “Just day before yesterday I was sitting with Nick. We were sitting at home chilling and I was telling him how eight months ago, his life was totally different. No one would’ve thought that they were going to be engaged, to be married. And he was also like, this was totally bizarre and unreal. But, I always wondered who Mimi didi (Priyanka) was going to marry.”
Parineeti also revealed in another interview that she was the first one to know that there is something special between Nick and her sister. Parineeti shared, “She called me one day and said she was coming to India with Nick. I said tell me all about it. Initially, I just knew that there was someone special in her life. But when she told me he was coming to India with her, I knew something serious was going on between them. I met him. There were only eight to ten of us that night. I was the only one from the family, rest were Priyanka’s friends.”
The Meri Pyaari Bindu actress further retorted, “The day it happened, I was the first one to get a call. But I was part of their story even before it happened. The day he proposed to her, it was her birthday. I got a missed call from her at 3 am. I knew she was holidaying. I Facetimed her. She showed me the ring and I almost fainted. Both Priyanka and Nick (Jonas) were there on call. They were like we had to tell you first. I started crying on the call. It became all emotional and beautiful.”
As per the latest update of Nickyanka’s wedding, a source revealed to The Sun, the colour of PeeCee and Nick’s wedding outfits and said, “Nick will wear ivory and Priyanka will be in red, while the bridesmaids will wear Ralph Lauren outfits for the Christian wedding because the couple wore the brand at their first public appearance together at the Met Gala last year. The festivities begin in the last week of November. They’re relishing every minute.”
Well, we can’t wait to see Priyanka and Nick in their wedding avatars. And well done Parineeti for slamming the media house for false reporting.
