This NRI Bride Wore A Sabyasachi Lehenga With No Embroidery On It, Proved Minimal Is The New Trend

Remember those fancy dress competitions in school when the very thought of decking up as a bride would give us happy-jitters? We would wear our mom’s old chunni as a veil on our heads and make gestures in front of the mirror. Or when our BFF would come over and play ghar-ghar, it would only end up in a fight with her as we always wanted to be the newbie bride! Most millennials are career-driven these days, but deep down, some of us also yearn for the day when we will deck-up as brides and make that stunning bridal entry on Din Shagna Da. And when it comes to being a bride, what can be better than donning a stunning Sabyasachi Mukherjee lehenga? This bride did exactly the same, but with a twist! (Do Read: NRI Bride Wore Deepika Padukone's 'Dil Guldasta' Reception Lehenga At Her Wedding, Looked Heavenly)

The heavier a lehenga is with embellishments, the more amazing it will look- galat! If you believe that saadgi mein hi khoobsurati hai and the less is the merrier for you, this NRI bride will prove you so. London-based, Sunpreet Sangha got married to her fiancé, Dr Ramandeep Hayer in an Anand Karaj wedding in London. The duo sported ace designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee apparels for their special day and stunned us with their attire. While the very name of the designer is enough to trigger our curious minds, we have a very fascinating fact to share about the bride’s wedding attire. But before we do so, check out a mesmerising picture of Sunpreet and Ramandeep from their wedding:

While we bet that you are still going gaga over how beautiful Sunpreet and Ramandeep look with one another, it’s time for us to share our observation on the bride’s wedding dress. Sunpreet had chosen the bridal colour of ‘red’ for her wedding and the best part was that her lehenga had thin, simple, horizontal zari work on it with zero embroideries! Her simple, almost polka-dotted choli and red and golden dupatta with zari-work on it had totally made us swoon! Sunpreet complemented her wedding attire with chooda, haath phool, moon-shaped maang teeka, nath and a heavy choker on her neck. Sabyasachi too, shared a few pictures of this NRI bride and wrote, “Real bride Sunpreet Sangha @soleilllx in Sabyasachi for her wedding in Gravesend, England Photo Courtesy: @zohaibali.co.uk Makeup by @shakiraalimua Location Courtesy: Guru Nanak Darbar Gurudwara, Gravesend, England.”

For Sunpreet and Ramandeep’s pre-engagement party, the then bride-to-be once again stunned in a Sabyasachi floral lehenga. Her then hubby-to-be, Ramandeep twinned with her in a floral Nehru jacket. Sunpreet tied her hair in a braided bun, kundan choker and maang teeka, simple diamond studs and a complementing potli bag tied to her arm. Sharing a few pictures, Sunpreet wrote, “Can’t believe this happened a month ago love all these images by the amazing.” (Must Read: 10 Lehenga Looks Donned By Shloka Mehta Which Every Girl Wants To Steal From Her Wardrobe)

Sunpreet dazzled on her mehendi ceremony with equal grace. She had her chikankari white sharara with blouse and chunni, made in India, and adorned herself with flower jewellery on her bun and hands. With a heavy maang teeka and earrings, Sunpreet looked amazing! Sharing pictures from the same, she posted, “My mehendi look thank you to @goenkajewels and @bijouandbloom for my amazing jewellery and flowers #hayercomesthebride #sunpreetsrock.”

Right after the mehendi ceremony, Sunpreet and Ramandeep had an intimate engagement ceremony, in which, she decked up as a Christian bride. With a simple, white gown, diamond studs, wavy hair left loose and bare minimal makeup, she was a treat to the eyes! Her now-hubby, Ramandeep complemented her in a black blazer with a white bow tie as she lovingly looked her while she slid a ring on her finger. Sharing the picture, Sunpreet wrote, “Forever laughing together #hayercomesthebride.”

In a Punjabi wedding, a day before the wedding, the maiyan ceremony is observed, wherein, the bride and the groom, in their respective houses, are smeared with a paste of turmeric and yoghurt to ensure that they glow on their wedding day. And yet again proving how minimal is simply the best, Sunpreet donned a plain sun-yellow attire and wore simple, single-stranded flower jewellery for the same. She shared a few pictures from the same and one of them was captioned as “Maiyan Ceremony Punjabi version of a spa day before the wedding.”

And then came the day before her wedding, in which Sunpreet had her chooda ceremony. She looked ethereal as she wore chooda with golden kaleere dangling from her arms as she wore contrasting beige, sharara to accentuating her almost-a-bride look. And it was on the day of her wedding morning when Sunpreet sported the most stunning paayal, which had embellishments of a wedding scene, made atop a base of ghungroo! Flaunting her feet jewellery, Sunpreet captioned her post as “Wedding morning I knew I had to have these the moment I saw them #Hayercomesthebride #sunpreetsrock.” (Also Read: This Bride Broke Norms By Wearing Dazzling White Lehenga On Her Wedding And Black On Her Sangeet)

Posting a picture, where Sunpreet was seen trying out her pre-wedding Sabyasachi couture, she shared a note for all brides when she thought that she has lost her kaleere, but yet, had kept her calm, “This is the only full-length picture I took of my pre-wedding outfit, you’d think I would’ve taken so many pics during my wedding but I literally took like 5 pics after the mehndi. I regret not having more pictures but I’m so happy that I didn’t care about that because I wanted to savour and enjoy every moment of my wedding! And I did, I was surprised so calm apart from when I thought I lost my kaleereh. Things never go to plan or maybe they do for some people but my advice to future brides (this is advice I got too from brides that say they don’t remember their wedding day and feels it goes by so fast) is to stress as much as you want till your first event then forget about everything and just be in the moment and take everything in. I literally remember every moment and I’m so thankful for it! Thankful to my siblings, friends and family for all the running around they had to do in the background.”
