On March 24, 2018, India’s business tycoon, Mukesh Ambani and philanthropist, Nita Ambani’s eldest son, Akash Ambani proposed to his childhood friend, Shloka Mehta. Two days later, on March 26, 2018, a pre-engagement star-studded bash was held for Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta.

A few days ago, a ‘Save The Date’ video went viral on social media to announce their formal engagement ceremony. Reportedly, Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s engagement will take place at Antilia on June 30, 2018. It’s also reported that Shloka and Akash will get married in December 2018.

 

 

Now, on June 06, 2018, Nita Ambani offered the formal engagement card of Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta to Lord Ganpati at the famous Siddhivinayak Temple. Mom Nita was accompanied by her son, Anant Ambani. Take a look at the pictures and videos:

It’s a family ritual of the Ambanis that every big event begins with the blessings of Ganpati at the Siddhivinayak Temple. After Akash proposed to Shloka, the very next day the family went to the temple to offer their prayers.

Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s engagement card includes incantations which bear their names. It reads, “You are the light in our Akash, You illuminate our every Shloka”.

For those who do not know, Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta are childhood friends. They have studied together at the famous Dhirubhai Ambani International School. Shloka is the daughter of Russell Mehta, a diamantaire who owns Rosy Blue, and Mona Mehta. Shloka herself is also the director of Rosy Blue Foundation since 2014 and is also the co-founder of ConnectFor, her company which works in collaboration with various NGOs. Recently, the bahu-to-be of the Ambanis, Shloka said, “Despite years and busy schedules, we have always found ways to stay connected. Akash is incredibly grounded, and we share a bond based on meaning and memories. We don't just get along - we also support each other's hopes and aspirations and are determined to build a sense of purpose into our lives together. We are lucky to have a love that began with being best friends and luckier still to have such supportive families”.

Akash, on the other hand, was quoted as saying, “I am truly happy that our friendship has blossomed into love and Shloka and I are getting married, she is a truly special and extremely kind-hearted person”.

In another interview with a leading media portal, Nita Ambani, post-Akash and Shloka’s proposal had said, “I have known Shloka since she was four and we are all delighted to welcome her to our home and our hearts”. A source close to the family had revealed, “Shloka is a very charming girl, extremely cultured and it’s difficult to say which of the two families is lucky with this upcoming marriage”.
