Their image of a happy family was shattered on June 1, 2021, when Karan was arrested after Nisha's complaint of domestic violence. Since then, there has been a blame game going on where Karan and Nisha are washing their dirty linen in the media.

From Nisha accusing Karan of having an extra-marital affair and domestic violence to Karan recalling being suicidal because of his issues with his bipolar wife, Nisha and worrying about their child, Kavish's safety; it is the little one, who is suffering the most in his parents' fight. It was in 2017 when Karan Mehra and Nisha Rawal had welcomed their rainbow baby, Kavish, who came as a ray of sunshine into their lives.
Amidst the legal battle and domestic violence case with his estranged wife, Nisha Rawal, Karan Mehra shared a lovely birthday wish for their little one, Kavish Mehra on his fourth birthday. Karan posted a picture of the cake and a gift from Hamleys with the caption, "Happy Birthday my little Man @kavishmehra God bless you and protect you always. I remember you telling me that you love me gazillions and me saying I Love You gazillions and gazillions and gazillions… I'm always right there in your heart" I will always LOVE YOU. Thankyou everyone and bless Kavish. Kove and Kugs."
Nisha Rawal's friend, Munisha Khatwani posted glimpses of Kavish Mehra's space-themed birthday celebrations. Nisha celebrated Kavish's fourth birthday with her mother and her friends, Rohit K Verma, Karan V Grover and Munisha. Nisha opted for a white coloured dress and Kavish looked adorable in an all-black look.

Before Nisha Rawal had taken a stand publicly against the domestic violence in her marriage with Karan Mehra, she had posted a picture with Kavish Mehra on her Instagram handle. In the picture, Kavish could be seen gazing outside the window at the airport as Nisha couldn't take her eyes off him. Nisha captioned the post as "Watching the world through ur eyes has been quite a sight my Littloo @kavishmehra A promise to explore the world together with a smile on our faces that would warm sad hearts!"
Amidst his fight with Nisha Rawal on the domestic violence allegations and their divorce proceedings, Karan Mehra had spoken about their son, Kavish Mehra's safety. In an interview with the ANI, Karan had said, "I feel my son is not safe with Nisha anymore. Earlier I happily decided to let Kavish live with Nisha but now I really don't know. I don't want my child to get affected. I am really worried about him. It's heartbreaking to see whatever is happening."
