The famous actress, Nilu Kohli is one of the biggest names in the Indian television industry. Apart from being a household name across the nation, she has worked in both the Punjabi film industry and Bollywood. There are so many memorable films in Nilu Kohli’s filmography that speak volumes about her range as an actor. While her professional front needs no introduction, Nilu rarely speaks about her personal life, as she believes in the idea of keeping it low-key.

The evergreen actress was married to Harminder Singh Kohli. The couple is blessed with three kids, two daughters, Sahiba Kohli and Tripti Kohli and a son, Saheb Kohli. Unfortunately, on March 24, 2023, Nilu’s husband, Harminder passed away, leaving his family in absolute shock, as he wasn’t suffering from any health hazard. As per his family members, Harminder just had diabetes, which was never a significant cause of the problem for him. He was also quite healthy and fit but was found dead in his bathroom. His sudden demise had a major impact on his wife, Nilu.

However, her children, Sahiba, Tripti and Saheb are there to support their mother after the sudden and heartbreaking departure of their dad. Talking about the sudden demise of Nilu Kohli’s husband, their mutual friend, in a conversation with the Navbharat Times, shared how he returned from Gurudwara and went to the bathroom. However, when he didn’t come out after some time, the house help went for a check and found him lying on the bathroom floor. Luckily the door was open, and he immediately alerted everyone, but by the time he was taken to the hospital, Harminder Singh was already dead.

Once in an interview with Sujay Gupta Live, Nilu Kohli opened up about the time when the entire nation was in lockdown due to COVID-19. Revealing how she spent the time with her son, daughter-in-law and husband, Nilu admitted that they’d divided the work, and each person was assigned some tasks. The actress shared how her son, Saheb Kohli used to do sweeping and moping, and she used to take care of the kitchen. When the actress was asked about her husband’s role, Nilu gave a hilarious answer. She admitted that the only help Harminder Singh did was to make a cup of tea for himself. The actress said:

"My husband, son and daughter in law are there in the family. Between my daughter in law and myself we have taken over cooking and cleaning. My son does the sweeping and moping and my husband he just make a cup of tea for himself that’s more than enough for us."

The evergreen actress, Nilu Kohli is extremely passionate about acting, and even at the age of 59; she is incredibly passionate about picking up new projects and challenging roles. The veteran actress caught everyone’s eyes with her performance in Jogi, which was based on the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. Over the years, she has worked so many famous shows, including Sangam, Maddam Sir, Choti Sarrdaarni and Mere Angne Mein. Regarding Bollywood, her most notable work was in the films, Housefull 2, Hindi Medium and Patiala House. Not only this, she has worked in a web series, Ghar Set hai too, in his astonishing career.

Nilu Kohli is one of the few actresses in India, who have not only worked in the Punjabi and Hindi film industries but also received tremendous success in both.
