Even though they had always maintained their ‘just friends’ stance, the question of ‘are they dating?’ or ‘aren’t they dating?’ had surrounded them throughout their dating phase.
On April 11, 2019, Neha Kakkar posted an Insta story about how a man should treat his girl, to which the Aankh Maare singer had a savage rephrased version. Neha believes that one should treat oneself 'nice' and should not be dependent on others, instead of hoping for her guy treating her nicely.
We have, time and again, seen how expressive Neha Kakkar is, as she revealed that she went into depression post her breakup with Himansh Kohli. Sometime back, Neha revealed the reason behind her breakup with Yaariyan fame, Himansh. Even though she had shared that it wasn’t an ugly breakup and it was nobody’s fault, some reports have blamed Himansh in this case.
Requesting everyone not to blame her ex, Himansh Kohli for their breakup, Neha Kakkar had shared on social media, “I read some articles online which was fake and disturbing. Yes, I said I’m hurt but I never said I got betrayed. When it comes to being loyal, he’s the best! So plz stop blaming him and putting wrong allegations. We just can’t spoil anybody’s reputation without even knowing the facts.”
After going through the rough time after her breakup, Neha Kakkar had opened up to Dainik Bhaskar about the same and falling in love again. Speaking about coping up with the breakup and labelling it as the ‘worst phase of her life’, Neha had stated, “That phase of my life was very difficult. Yes, I was into depression and it was difficult for me to cope up with it. It was the worst phase; however, I have come out of it now. Right now, all I can say is that being single is the best feeling of my life. You know what, when I was in a relationship, I was not being able to give time to my family and my friends. At that time, I dedicated all my time and energy to that person who does not deserve it. I missed so many beautiful moments with my family members, especially with my siblings. The Coca Cola Tu singer continued, “Thankfully, I have moved on from this bad relationship. I am really in a happy space now. I have realised that my family is more deserving than anybody else in my life. I am happy with whatever happened because that made me realise the importance of my family members. (smiles).” Neha also shared that she is not open to love again, “With this bad experience, I am not open to love again. As I said, I am happy to be single!”
Post this interview, Neha Kakkar clarified on social media that ‘it wasn’t an ugly breakup’. Addressing the media, Neha wrote, “Dear Media, It wasn’t ugly, neither the relationship nor the breakup. Let’s not blame anyone. I guess it was nobody’s fault, maybe God didn’t want us to be together. Let’s spread positivity and happiness.” Earlier in an interview with SpotboyE, Neha refused to acknowledge her ex and said, “Which Himansh? I don’t know any Himansh.” When prodded further, she replied, “Leave me alone please!”
During their dating phase, Neha Kakkar had revealed to a media portal about how she and Himansh Kohli used to laugh on their relationship rumours making the rounds on the internet. Neha had said, "Honestly, we just keep on laughing about these reports. I don’t think there’s anything wrong in what they are saying, but it’s not true. Two best friends can totally say they love and adore each other, without any meaning of romance." Sharing how they both met, Himansh was quoted as saying, “I had to meet Neha and her brother for some work, and I wanted to discuss some songs for one of my movies. So, it was a work meeting, but after a couple of our photos got out, I got a call from my friends asking me if I had gotten engaged."
