In the middle of Bollywood actress, Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding, all the Bollywood buffs got a surprise wedding news of Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi. On May 10, 2018, Neha and Angad walked down the aisle in a Gurudwara wedding, as per Anand Karaj rituals. Until now, no one even had any clue that these two were even dating. The hush-hush wedding of the couple triggered the conjectures and speculations of her pregnancy. Soon after, reports that she might be pregnant before marriage started doing the rounds. One amongst many suggested, “Neha is pregnant, and the news will come out in a while. The reason why they got married so quickly was because of this.” Eventually, the rumours turned out to be true and Neha delivered a baby girl on November 18, 2018, whom they lovingly named, Mehr Dhupia.
Of late, in an interview with IANS, Neha Dhupia got candid about her pregnancy and life after becoming a mother. Not just this, she also shared her views on being a working mother. Talking about the changes after Mehr’s arrival, Neha shared, "When you are pregnant, a lot of people tell you a lot of different things. That when you have children 'your life will change' and all of that. Adding further, she said, "The person becomes number one in your head and heart and you are like 'how did this happen in just one second'. My priority is Mehr. Neha also revealed what has changed now and said, "Now, I wish I had 48 hours in a day. There is too much to do and at the same time I have to pack it all in and to go to work. There are so many working moms.” Further, sharing her views on “good or bad mom”, she stated, "Every parent is amazing, whichever way it is. The one who is at home, or the one who decided to go at work. Every mom is amazing. And secondly, you are not alone, most of my friends are working mothers. Rubbishing the pregnancy rumours, Angad had earlier stated, “If someone wants to say something, I am not here to comment on anybody's statement. Everybody has a right to their opinion, I feel whenever we want to make anything public, we will as a couple- whether it's our personal front or professional work- whatever we want to share, we will willingly come forward and do that.” But eventually, the rumours and conjectures turned out to be true. After a while, in an interaction with Mid-Day, Neha revealed the reason behind hiding her pregnancy. She was quoted as saying, “I was worried people would stop offering work. It was a good thing my bump wasn’t showing till the sixth month because appearances matter here, and one might be assumed to be unfit for a job. In an interview earlier, when Neha was asked about her views on flaunting baby bump, she said, “That is amazing. I read an article about a woman who was eight months pregnant and was shooting ‘Black Panther’ and one more. Gal Gadot came back for a patchwork of her films. Feeling proud of his wifey, Neha, Angad told a leading portal, “I feel very proud when I see her do so well. She has done some great work in cinema and made a name for her. She is an accomplished woman and I treasure it because she gives me a great perspective on life. She has kept her relationship with people intact. It’s easier said than done but to be a liked person by all is not easy. And Neha does it so effortlessly.”
