Neetu Kapoor’s mother-in-law, Krishna Raj Kapoor passed away at the age of 87 in Mumbai, due to cardiac arrest on October 01, 2018. But Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor were nowhere to be seen amidst the funeral rituals. But their daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni was spotted all teary-eyed at the Kapoor residence.
If you are wondering why Rishi, Neetu and Ranbir missed the funeral, the reason is that they are in the US for Rishi ji’s medical treatment. On September 29, 2018, Rishi Kapoor tweeted, “Hello all! I am taking a short leave of absence from work to go to America for some medical treatment. I urge my well wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate. It’s been 45 years “plus”of wear and tear at the movies. With your love and good wishes, I will be back soon!”.
And since Neetu Kapoor wasn’t able to attend her mother-in-law’s last rites, she wrote a eulogy for her ‘best friend’ and shared a lovely picture with her. Neetu ji captioned the following picture on her Instagram as, “She was such a huge influence in my life admired her elegance with generosity and warmth!!! Neetu Kapoor and Krishna Raj Kapoor seemed to share an amicable bond and were often spotted on family vacations and get-togethers. Another photograph that Neetu ji shared on her Instagram on July 23, 2018, Krishna auntie (as fondly called by other Bollywood celebrities) can be seen twinning with her great-granddaughter, Samara Sahni (daughter of Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and Bharat Sahni). She captioned it, “Miss these Cutieee patoooties one who teaches you the way to live age does not stop her from doing anything #respect #admire #love the other a total live wire never a dull moment with her around”.
Speaking about the equation with her in-laws, Neetu Kapoor once stated in an interview, “They've always been family. If I'd been fake with them, they would have seen through me. If I have an issue of any kind with any one of my in-laws, I don't let that fester within me. My mother-in-law (Krishna Raj Kapoor) treats me like her daughter. Reema, my sister-in-law, has been a buddy even before I got married.”
On September 4, 2018, i.e. Rishi Kapoor’s birthday, Neetu Kapoor dug out an adorable click from their family archives wherein a young Rishi ji can be seen sharing a dancing moment with his mother, Krishna Raj Kapoor. She captioned the black and white photo as, "His love n devotion for his mother and God is unimaginable!!! He will have his mother and God's blessings always. Happy Birthday."
