In the world of uncertain relationships, there are some bonds that stay with us throughout our lives. And one such bond is shared between a mother and her daughter. Neena Gupta has always been ahead of her times. Although the beautiful actress has stunned us with her effortless acting, her personal life was never a bed of roses. From her wedding being called off, to falling in love with West Indies cricket team captain, Vivian Richards, Neena ji’s life has been a roller coaster ride. She was head-over-heels in love with Vivian, who was already a married man, and didn’t thought twice before giving birth to their child, Masaba, out of wedlock. From managing the ups and downs of her professional front to raising Masaba as a single mother, Neena ji has inspired many women with her liberal thoughts.

Masaba and Neena

Counted amongst one of the finest fashion designers in India, Masaba Gupta is known for her unconventional prints and feminine drapes. She was named as one of the “Ten Best Indian fashion designers” by style magazine, Culture Trip. On December 22, 2020, Neena Gupta took to her IG handle and shared a collage of a magazine’s cover pictures. The first picture was from the edition, published in 1993, which had featured Neena ji on its cover and the latest edition, published in 2020, featured Masaba. Along with the collage, Neena ji wrote, “1993 & 2020, but you’re better my child @masabagupta.”

Masaba

In 2020, Masaba had made her acting debut and had starred in the Netflix series, Masaba Masaba with none other than her mother, Neena Gupta. On November 2, 2020, Masaba had turned 31, and Neena ji had shared an adorable wish for her. Neena ji had taken to her IG handle and had shared a throwback picture with Masaba, in which, the doting daughter had cuddled her mommy. Along with the picture, Neena ji had written, “Happy birthday my child.” (Also Read: Navya Naveli Nanda's Now-Public Instagram Exudes Her Love For Nanu-Nani, Amitabh And Jaya Bachchan)

Neena

In an interview with film critic, Rajeev Masand, Neena Gupta had spoken candidly about her daughter, Masaba. Commenting on her choice of depriving Masaba of her father and a normal family, Neena Gupta had stated it was selfish on her part. She was quoted as saying, "Very much. All the time. I feel it was a very selfish act on my part. Some of my friends told me it won’t be fair on part of the child, but kaun sunnta hai uss waqat, blind hotey hain (who listens at that age, people are blind). I also feel sad because she was lonely. I wish I had another child but circumstances weren’t like that."

Neena

Neena Gupta and Masaba Gupta share an adorable bond with each other and their social media banters are always loved by their fans. On May 29, 2020, Neena ji had shared a picture with Masaba from one of her archives, with a caption that could be read as “Missing my baby.” However, Neena ji had forgotten to crop the words, ‘View Insights’ and ‘Promote’ from the picture. And it was Masaba’s reaction to the picture that was unmissable. She had commented, “Miss you too Mummy par screenshot toh crop kar lo.” Not just this, realising her mistake, Neena ji had replied, “@masabagupta sorry baby still learning.” (Also Read: Anil Kapoor Pens An Emotional Note For His Late Father Surinder Kapoor On His 95th Birth Anniversary)
