On June 4, 2021, Neena Gupta turned 62, and on her special day, her daughter and ace fashion designer, Masaba Gupta dropped a stunning picture of her mother and penned a powerful birthday note in the caption. In the picture, Neena Gupta looked breathtakingly beautiful in her lovely white top as she posed for the camera with her brightest smile. Along with the picture, the doting daughter penned a powerful note and heaped praises for her mom for breaking stereotypes in her life. Neena Gupta is known for speaking her mind without mincing her words, and her daughter, Masaba Gupta feels proud about the same. In an interview with Mid-Day, Masaba had revealed how Neena is not a typical Indian mother and had said, "I discovered one thing about my mother that she is not the typical mom. I mean it in the best way possible, because I have seen kids who are really bad at what they do, being told that they are kings and queens of their respective professions, by their mothers." Thanking her mother for keeping her grounded, Masaba had said, "There is nothing more damaging to a child than that, because your child has no connection with reality. Your child will grow up to think that they know everything, when none of us do. My mother has made me somebody who is very grounded and in touch with reality."

It was on April 4, 2021, when Masaba Gupta had once again melted and won our hearts after she had taken a trip down memory lane and had shared a throwback picture from her archives. The stunning designer-turned-actress had shared an adorable childhood picture of hers with her mother, Neena Gupta. In the picture, Masaba had looked cute as a cupcake as she had happily posed for the camera while sitting in Neena Gupta's lap. Along with the picture, Masaba had written, "Still bright-eyed & eating whatever comes my way."
