When the power couple of the South film industry, Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, had announced their separation, it had come as the biggest shock to their fans. Reports of trouble in their marital life had been doing the rounds for the past few months. Her absence from her father-in-law, Nagarjuna's birthday bash and dropping 'Akkineni' from her surname had added fuel to the rumours.
After their separation, a report by Pinkvilla had stated that Chaitanya had reportedly moved out into a hotel, after deciding to part ways with Samantha. A source had told the publication, ''Naga Chaitanya has been living alone in a posh hotel in Hyderabad since a month after he and Samantha decided mutually to divorce.''

Meanwhile, it is reported that Naga Chaitanya has purchased a swanky new house in the posh neighbourhood of Hyderabad, whereas Samantha will continue to live in their old luxurious condo. According to a report in Mirchi9, the house purchased by Chaitanya is in Jubilee Hills and is under renovation.
The report further states that once the renovation is done, Chaitanya will be moving into his new home, while Samantha will reportedly keep the Gachibowli mansion to herself. It is also stated that the house was reportedly owned by actress, Tabu and she had sold it to Naga Chaitanya two years back.

Post their separation, there have been a lot of reasons quoted for Samantha and Chaitanya's separation. She was also linked with her stylist, Preetam Jukalker. In an interview with The Times Of India, Preetam reacted to the rumours and said that he is upset with Chaitanya's silence over the same and how Samantha is like a sister to him. In his words, "Everybody knows that I call Samantha as ‘Jiji’ which is a north Indian term for sister. How can there possibly be a link-up between us?"
Revealing how Chaitanya's silence is making things more difficult for the actress, Preetam continued, "I’ve known Chaitanya for years. He too knows the kind of relationship that Samantha and I have. I feel that he could’ve spoken up and told people not to comment like that about Sam and me. Even if he had issued one statement, it would have made a lot of difference. Right now, it’s these so-called fans who are making these statements and spreading false rumours. I think a statement from Chaitanya’s side would’ve helped keep these people in check."

Samantha and Chaitanya had officially announced their separation on October 2, 2021.
