Nobody can forget the 2015 World Cup when MS Dhoni was in Australia serving the nation, and his wife was about to deliver their first child. Dhoni had refused to return home to be with his pregnant wife, Sakshi Singh Dhoni and had missed his first child's birth as he had said that he was on 'National duty'. Not only this, he keeps his mobile off during important tournaments and thus, his family couldn't reach him and had to eventually call his best friend, Suresh Raina, to deliver the ‘good news’. Scrolling through our social media handle, we stumbled upon a picture of MS Dhoni with his newborn daughter, Ziva and it speaks volumes about daddy love. Yes, in the picture, we can see Dhoni wearing a baby holder, carrying newborn Ziva inside it and as it was too crowded, the new daddy had turned protective as he can be seen holding Ziva tight and covering her face with his hand. Ziva is very close to her dad, MS Dhoni and is his biggest cheerleader. On September 9, 2020, Sakshi had taken to her daughter's Instagram handle and had shared a cute video, wherein Ziva could be seen holding Dhoni's sketch. In the video, we could hear Sakshi asking her daughter, "Who is in the sketch". To which, Ziva had replied, "Papa". On this, Sakshi had said, "Are you sure?" To this, Ziva had replied, "Mahendra Singh Dhoni." The video was captioned as "Papa's biggest fan." In an interview with The Print, Dhoni had talked about the changes Ziva had brought into his life and had shared, “It is a very different feeling, and I personally find it very difficult to put it in words. It is more of an emotion, and I feel I have not really missed a lot of things in life, but after a while when I am outside, after a few days, I actually start missing Ziva. Not to the extent that it starts bothering my cricket and all, but it is the first time ever when I feel, maybe I should Facetime to see what she is really doing."
He had further added, "It is not like we interact a lot, she is very independent, she is very young but very independent, she does not really look for many people to be around her. I have played for India for about 12 years, even more, but that sort of ‘missing’ has never happened. I feel that is the fatherly feeling that makes it happen."
