In 2015, the marriage of the most eligible bachelor of B-town, Shahid Kapoor and a 21-year-old Delhi-based girl, Mira Rajput had raised a lot of eyebrows due to the huge age gap between them. Before Mira, Shahid was linked with a lot of B-town divas but little did he knew that his ‘forever’ doesn’t belong to the industry. Married in July 2015, Shahid and Mira are knitting their own sweet fairytale with two adorable kids, Misha Kapoor and Zain Kapoor.
Refreshing the memories from their wedding, Mira Rajput Kapoor posted an Insta story of a ‘major throwback’ from her reception. Manisha Malhotra had posted a picture of the then newly-wedded couple, Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor as they walked hand-in-hand on their wedding reception and were all smiles for the shutterbugs. Manish had written, “@mira.kapoor radiant at her reception with flapper @shahidkapoor” and “@mira.kapoor in @mmalhotraworld #throwback The Blue Storv” atop it. Reposting the picture, Mira wrote, “Major throwback! @manishmalhotra05” atop it. For the wedding reception, Shahid had looked suave in a formal black tux while his bride, Mira had swooned us in a cream and blue floral Manish Malhotra outfit and jewellery by Nirav Modi.
Even though it has been almost five years now since the Bollywood heartthrob, Shahid Kapoor had announced his ‘taken’ status, we still drool over the beautiful pictures from his wedding with Mira Rajput. While there are a lot of pictures from their pre-wedding ceremonies and reception, there’re only a few from Shahid and Mira’s Gurudwara wedding. The mahurat of Shahid and Mira's wedding was 11 am when they had a simple Gurudwara wedding. With only their closest of members were in attendance, Shahid had opted for a white kurta-pyjama along with a safa, while his then-newbie bride, Mira had donned a simple peach and green suit, with a shell maang-teeka and very minimal makeup. Mira Rajput Kapoor is extremely attached to her father. Time and again, through posts, pictures and interviews, she keeps on sharing how much she adores her parents. In 2018, Mrs Kapoor had taken to her Instagram handle to post a beautiful unseen picture of herself and her father, who was planting a peck on her cheeks from her Gurudwara wedding. She had captioned the lovely picture as “My strength and weakness #Dad.”
For the Vogue Wedding Book 2019, Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor had let their fans into their world and had recalled the best moments of their wedding. Sharing that Shahid had promised her to renew their wedding vows, Mira had remarked, “He’s promised me we’re going to do it again!” Recalling his favourite moment from the wedding, Shahid had said, “The Anand Karaj ceremony was my favourite moment from the wedding. It was just a room full of our people, celebrating us, perfect strangers who were going to take this insane journey together. Even though it’s just been four years, a large part of who I am has been formed since the day we got married. We were relieved! The formalities were over, and we could now start sharing our lives.”
In an interactive Instagram session with the fans, Mira Rajput Kapoor had revealed that she had met Shahid Kapoor for the first time when she was 16 years old. When a fan had asked her, “What was it like meeting Shahid for the first time? Considering he is a star”, Mira had replied, “Just like meeting anyone for the first time. Interesting. It was actually when I was 16 and we were at a common family friends house for a concert by a sufi singer.
