Dear fathers-in-law, we know you are not given much credit and Ekta Kapoor has never thought twice on making a serial on you, but you still hold an important place in the life of a new bahu. It is because of your unconditional love that a daughter-in-law feels like a daughter in a new home and environment. It is your appreciation for her food that makes her believe that she is doing something right, it is the way you always support her and not your son that makes her realise that she is more than just a daughter-in-law in your big happy family. While not many are blessed with an awesome father-in-law, Shahid Kapoor's wife, Mira Rajput Kapoor is definitely one of the lucky few. The star-wife shares a loving relationship with her baba. We remember how Shahid and Mira's wedding had brought the entire Kapoor family together. When Shahid was getting married to Mira, Supriya Pathak (Pankaj Kapur's second wife) had participated in all the functions and ceremonies happily and had also made Mira feel at home ever since she had entered the Kapoors. Mira in a way had filled the spaces in the family and created a happy world for the new generation.
On May 29, 2020, Shahid Kapoor's father, Pankaj Kapur turned a year older, and to make his birthday special, the doting daughter-in-law, Mira Rajput Kapoor penned an adorable wish. She took to her Instagram handle and posted a monochrome picture of her daddy-in-law with his wife, Supriya. Alongside it, she wrote, "Happy Birthday Dad. Nobody is as cool and as warm as you are In a family of Alphonsos we’re the Safedas! To the bestest ‘Baba’, We love you." Check it out below:
We all know Shahid's relationship with his daddy, Pankaj has not always been a pleasant one. In a 2015 interview with the Hindustan Times, Pankaj had talked about his son and how there was a gap between the two. He had said, "As Shahid said, it is very difficult to explain. For a father, to separate from his son is not easy. It was a huge emotional loss for me [the last time around] and I started living with the hope that there will come a time when we will come close to each other again. And today, it’s a great feeling to sit next to him, see his work or hear him speak and bond with the family. Definitely, yes. I missed him every day, but there were professional constraints. What’s most fortunate is that once he turned 18, Shahid assisted me for a while, so we got to spend a lot of time with each other. Then, we started going on holidays together with the family, so the bonding increased, especially after we shifted to our new house." In the same interview, Shahid had also talked about his father and had shared, "My parents separated when I was three, but I was extremely secure as a child. It has a lot to do with the kind of effort dad and I made to keep it [our relationship] healthy, normal and positive. You know, sometimes, he says that he wants to shift out of town and lead a chilled-out life, maybe five or 10 years down the line. I don’t like that. He is a big part of my life."
