Our mother is the first person, we admire and consider as a role model. We love to follow her path and do things just like we have seen her doing. While often it is said that girls follow and practice their mother’s path religiously, we have a son here, who started the path of fitness after getting inspired from his mother. Yes, we are talking about the fitness freak, Milind Soman, who has raised the bar of fitness really high in our country. In an interview with The Indian Express, Milind had credited his mom for inspiring and encouraging him to take sports seriously. He had revealed that his mother had retired at the age of 60 and had started trekking. At the age of 76, she had participated in a 100-kilometre trek. He had further added that when his family wanted him to focus more on studies rather than swimming, it was his mother, who had said that if he enjoys it, he should balance both studies and sports. Well, this is the right kind of inspiration that any kid wants and this paid Milind off well!
Milind Soman’s mother, Usha Soman had turned 81 on July 3, 2020, and now, the doting son has shared a video from his mother’s birthday celebrations. He took to his Instagram handle to share a video and a picture from his aai’s birthday celebration, but it was the video that blew us off completely. In the video, we can see, Milind’s aai doing pushups at the age of 81 and we were highly impressed by a look at it. She can be seen nailing 15 pushups, ending it with a sweet smile. Whereas in the picture we can see, Milind, his wife, Ankita and his mother happily smiling for a selfie. Along with it, he mentioned that his wife made a cake for her mother-in-law and wrote, “3rd July 2020. 81 amazing years celebrated with birthday in lockdown. Party with 15pushups and a jaggery vanilla almond cake baked by @ankita_earthy happy birthday Aai keep smiling!!” Take a look:
Milind and Ankita had gotten married on April 22, 2018, in a close-knit Assamese wedding. And ever since their wedding, not only the lovely couple but also, the saas-bahu jodi of Ankita and Usha ji have been giving major goals. On July 3, 2020, Ankita Konwar had taken to her Instagram handle and had shared an inspiring birthday note for her mother-in-law, Usha Soman as she had turned 81-year-old. Sharing two lovely pictures with Usha ji, Ankita had written, “81, fit and fabulous! Last year for her 80th birthday, she chose to go scuba diving in Bali and this year she was supposed to be bungee jumping in Zambia. Even though that couldn’t be done given the current situation of the world, we are still so very happy to be able to celebrate her birthday in a happy healthy home. Grateful for every moment. Happy 81st @somanusha.”
On April 21, 2020, Milind had taken to his Instagram handle and had shared with his followers how he is spending his quarantine learning new things. He had posted a video with his mother, Usha Soman. The two could be seen skipping and we had loved their enthusiasm. Alongside the post, Milind had written how it is not a new thing for his mother but definitely, for him. His caption could be read as "Skipping with @somanusha! Not a new activity for her but new for me when you are at home 24×7, each one, teach one another! You are old only when you think you are.. #LockdownMantra." (Don't Miss: Arpita Khan Sharma And Her Son, Ahil Sharma Bake Mouth-Watering Red Velvet Cupcakes For Family)
Some time back, we had spotted Milind's mother doing a leg-hop with her bahu, Ankita Konwar. In the video, we could see the saas-bahu duo enjoying the one-leg hop. Alongside it, Ankita had written a sweet caption that could be read as "In all of living, have much fun and laughter. Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured - #gordonbhinckley If I live to be 80 someday, my only wish is to approach it as fit as you are. May you inspire many more."
