The duo had opened up about their love for each other on Valentine's Day 2019. Sana Khaan had taken all her fans by surprise when she had taken to her Instagram handle and had posted a dreamy picture with celebrity choreographer, Melvin Louis. One look at their love-filled picture was proof enough to know that they were madly-in-love with each other. Sometime back there were reports of the two going through a rough patch and were on the verge of a possible breakup. However, on February 12, 2020, two days before Valentine’s Day, Sana had announced her breakup with Melvin through her social media handle.
Since their breakup, the two had been taking dig at each other through their respective social media posts. On March 6, 2020, Melvin took to his Instagram handle and shared a post on being at the receiving end and about men being victims too. Putting allegations on his ex-girlfriend, Sana, Melvin wrote, “You mocked me! You mocked my race and my skin color! You mocked my family! On February 12, 2020, Sana Khaan had taken to her Instagram handle and had shared details about her breakup with Melvin Louis calling her relationship toxic. She had written, "This is my first and it has taken a lot of courage from me to come out and speak the truth. Coz there were so many people who believed in this relation and showed so much love and respect but unfortunately, I didn’t get it from where I should have gotten. After Sana had announced her breakup, an ugly war of words and blame game had started between Sana and Melvin. After taking a dig at each other with nasty comments and posts, in a live video chat, Sana had opened up on why she had chosen social media to narrate her story. She had stated, “My life is not a movie and I won’t get any box office success by maligning a person. I don’t want another Sana Khaan case to happen." Sana had also shared how Melvin used her name to get famous and had forced her to make their relationship public. The actress had stated, "He kept pushing me to make our relationship official just after Valentine’s Day last year. He kept forcing me to post our pictures on Instagram and everywhere. I had to go for some media interactions and he wanted me to talk about ‘us’. That time I didn’t realise that it was just to get fame."
