Daughter of Padma Shri recipient journalist, Vinod Dua and radiologist, Dr Padmavati Dua, a.k.a, Chinna Dua, Mallika is known for her quintessential Delhi-based character, Make Up Didi.

Known for her liberal views on social causes, Mallika is one of the most loved content creators and social media influencers. It was in May 2021, when Mallika had shared the news of being tested COVID positive along with her parents. Mallika, who has been sharing updates about her parents' health, had informed that her mother, Chinna’s conditional was critical.
On June 11, 2021, Chinna Dua lost her battle and succumbed to COVID-19. A few hours back, Mallika Dua took to her IG stories and shared two emotional posts for her mother. In her first post, she wrote, “She left us last night. My whole heart. My whole life. The only god I know. My Amma I'm sorry I couldn't save you. You fought so hard my mama. My precious. My heart. You're my whole life.”
In her second note, Mallika mentioned that her life will never be the same without her mother. She penned, “It's not about my loss and grief. It's about a life cut short. I always knew I didn't deserve her. But she deserved to live. I don't know if I will ever be able to pray again."
Actor-turned-politician, Bina Kak informed about Chinna’s demise. On June 11, 2021, Bina took to her IG handle and shared a picture of Chinna Dua and penned her condolences. She wrote, “You suffered a lot dear Chinna...Now RIP Much love.”

On the occasion of Mother’s Day, Mallika had shared a heartfelt post for her mother, Chinna Dua. Sharing a picture of her mom, Mallika had written, “Happy Mother’s Day my cute girl @chinnadua, please get well soon? The monkeys in the balcony are waiting for you. Plus I really miss throwing tantrums.”
On May 15, 2021, Chinna Dua had shared an update about her health on her IG handle. Revealing that she had started developing breathing issue, Chinna had written, “Hi all. Day before on 13th May, I started having difficulty in breathing. My doc by listening to my voice said that i was going into cytokine storm & need monitoring. We were admitted to St Stephen's hospital on 13.5.21 but my condition progressed, requiring ICU but bed wasn't available there.”
