Things don’t stay under the table for a long time in this showbiz world. One move of yours and it might become a Page 3 headline. There is no denying that rumours prevail in the industry and our favourite celebs sometimes become prey to it, but as it is said, there is no smoke without fire. One of the most talked about alleged couples these days is Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor. Neither of the two has ever gone on-record to accept their relationship, but their social media PDAs, various dinner and lunch dates, hand-in-hand entry at various events, etc., have portrayed the story the other way round.
More so is the way how Arjun has always been very protective of Malaika and escorts her to the car in a very nice manner. All of this has made everyone be sure of the two dating each other, somewhere down the line in their minds, even if Arjun and Malaika have not accepted as yet. Ever since the two have started giving couple appearances, they have also started making it to the social media PDAs’ list. And today, Arjun and Malaika stand at the top, courtesy their comments (sometime cheesy, sometimes flirtatious) on almost every picture of theirs. And yet again, Malla (as she is lovingly called) has raised the social media PDA bar. Arjun shared the below picture on official Instagram and along with it captioned the post as, “Crouching tiger, hidden Arjun.” Right after this post, Malaika chose to comment on his picture and left a very flirtatious comment that could be read as, “Nice Pic”, followed by a heart eye cat emoji. In an interaction with Bollywood Hungama recently, Arjun had shared his wedding plans with Malaika and while doing so, he indirectly confirmed dating Malaika. Arjun was quoted as saying, “I’ve had a pretty roller coaster life since my childhood. I do not want to jump the gun, I want to take things one step at a time but, thank you for your wishes, thank you for your concern. Aur, mai jabhi bhi shaadi karunga, agar karunga, toh sabko bataunga. Further, revealing about marriage, he had gone to add, “No marriage plans yaar. Am just very very happy, very very grateful that the media, and the people and generally everybody has been respectful towards me and my personal, and professional life. I think there has been a lot of dignity that has been given to me, a lot of respect has given to me. That is why there is certain openness from my end. I think things should take their own course. Things should fall into the place when they are meant to.”
He was further probed as to how it feels when people dig into his personal life and a sensitive topic like that of his marriage. On this note, the 33-year-old actor had remarked, “The speculative nature of our profession will always remain. Which is always gonna be there, which I think is a small price to pay as actors. But I think it has more to do with the fact that all my peers are getting married. So, it becomes part of Sab ki ho rahi hai, toh iski bhi ho jayegi (Everyone is getting married, he too will get married). But, I am 33 I think I have little time before I take that plunge. Once Arjun had made fun of his wedding rumours with Malaika and had jokingly stated, “I have no qualms about saying that I am not getting married. People go bald after getting married.” He had further added, “Marriage is definitely not going to happen now. I’m happy on both, the personal and professional fronts. I have always been open. Be assured that I will not shock you all. If there is something to be spoken about, I will inform you all and make you a part of it.”
Earlier, a report had suggested that Arjun and Malaika would make it official on April 19, 2019, as they were planning for a Church wedding. The report had then stated, “Our well-placed source spills the beans that Malla will walk down the aisle on April 19. The invitees list will, of course, have to-be-bride and groom’s close friend circle like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor and their Bandra girl gang, with whom the couple usually hangs out. Another report by DNA had reported, “Arjun and Malaika have told their teams to keep themselves free for the wedding. They want it to be an extremely private affair with only close friends and family, so the hair and make-up artists and other members have been strictly asked not to share any information with anybody.” But the wedding, of course, didn’t happen and in an interview with Amar Ujala, Arjun’s father, Boney Kapoor had dismissed those baseless rumours and had quipped, "There's no truth to these rumours."
