B-town celebs get trolled on anything they write or post. Something similar happened on June 9, 2019, when Malaika Arora got trolled for her fashion statement at Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s birthday bash. On June 9, 2019, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja celebrated her 34th birthday amidst family and friends. From Anand S Ahuja, Anil Kapoor, Sunita Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Maheep Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor to Karisma Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Ananya Panday, Karan Johar, amongst others, came together to have a blast and make the birthday girl feel special. But one person, whose presence caught everyone’s attention was of Sonam’s cousin, Arjun’s not-so-rumoured-anymore ladylove, Malaika Arora.
Malaika Arora took to her Instagram handle to wish probable soon-to-be sister-in-law, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja on her 34th birthday. In her first story, she shared a picture of Arjun with Sonam and Rhea, Malaika wrote atop of it, “Happy bday darling @sonamkapoor”. In the next post, she posted a group picture from Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s pre-wedding bash in Switzerland, which included the Kapoor sisters and their respective beaus, along with Kapoor brother, Arjun and muse, Malaika, sharing a hearty laugh together, all looking a million dollars! Atop of it, she had written, “Happy happy bday @sonamkapoor… managed to find one with me in it”.
Malaika Arora attended Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s birthday bash held at the latter’s Mumbai residence. Malaika looked stunning in a gorgeous white saree with hand-painted red and golden flowers by designer, Rohit Bal and she had opted for a simple sleeveless blouse with thin straps. Malaika glammed up her look with an equally stunning large neckpiece with emeralds on it and a maang teeka. With hair parted midway and dewy makeup, Malaika was all smiles for the paparazzi stationed outside Sonam’s residence. But Malaika’s look didn’t go well with some netizens and she became a target of trolls.
Malaika Arora was trolled on social media for wearing a traditional ‘marriage’ outfit at Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s birthday bash. Some of the comments stated, “Sasural ayi hain na isliye”, “Is she going for a marriage or for a birthday party.... She has lost it completely”, “Bahu chali saauraal”, “I think they got married secretly thts y dressed up like sanskari bahu”. Though Malaika had clarified through her Instagram handle that she had to attend a wedding post the birthday bash, hence her look! A Woman’s Era report had earlier suggested that a particular behaviour of Malaika Arora had upset Arjun Kapoor’s cousin, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja. As per the report, Malaika was extremely drunk at a Page 3 party and Sonam had tried to come to her aide, but the former had asked Sonam to stay away. This apparently left all miffed and rumours were also rife that Sonam wasn’t very fond of Malaika. But the aforementioned pictures and Malaika’s birthday wish for Sonam have clarified all doubts that must have aroused in their fans’ mind. Malaika Arora is currently in a relationship with Arjun Kapoor, who is 12 years younger to her, and they are often trolled for the same by those who don’t believe that age is just a number. Many also troll Malaika for looking happy and making the most of her life post her divorce with Arbaaz Khan. Sometime back, Malaika gave it back to the trollers by posting a naughty-wink picture of herself from a beach holiday. Giving a savage reply to the trollers, she had written, “Being happy is a choice .n I choose to be happy ... also I think happiness looks good on me ... so keep ur opinions n ur negativity to urself n spare me ur crap #notinterested#toobusybeinghappy#notimefornegativity #tuesdaythoughts#43nhappy.”
In an interaction with the Bombay Times, Arjun Kapoor was asked to comment on the trolls targeting him and Malaika for the age gap between them. He had replied, “I wouldn’t even want to speak about this and give it importance.
