Mahima Chaudhry had become everyone’s mehbooba with her debut film, Pardes, opposite Shah Rukh Khan. The film made Mahima, a star overnight and she was counted among one of the leading ladies of Bollywood in the 90s. After some ups and downs in her personal life, Mahima took a break from acting.
However, she is all set to make her comeback soon. However, a few months back, her fans got the biggest shock when the actress announced the news of being diagnosed with breast cancer. It was actor, Anupam Kher, who posted the video of Mahima, where the actress sported short hair and talked about her difficult battle with cancer.

On September 9, 2022, Mahima took to her IG handle and posted an adorable picture with actress, Sonali Bendre, who is a cancer survivor as well. Sharing a cute moment, Mahima and Sonali were seen posing for the lens. Along with the picture, Mahima revealed that it was Sonali, who gave the warmest long call to her after she posted the video of her cancer diagnosis. Recalling the same, Mahima wrote:
“@iamsonalibendre I love you YOU=SUNSHINE. I ran into sunshine today guys. We all Have always been such big fans of... of her style, grace, beauty omg, her bravery and she’s so inspiring… and so so much more. When @anupampkher shared the news about my cancer detection in june sonali gave me the warmest, longest call, That chat was so calming, comforting I remember I slept like a baby post that... after a really long time. Love her.”
In 2018, Sonali Bendre had announced the news of being diagnosed with metastatic cancer. However, she battled the disease with courage and made sure to document every moment of her journey. Sonali made sure that cancer didn't overpower her spirit, and even after four years, the actress is inspiring millions.

In an interview with ETimes, Mahima Chaudhry had opened up about her cancer journey and revealed how challenging the entire phase was. Talking about the same, the actress said:
"It has been a psychological battle. I was diagnosed with cancer during a simple annual check-up at the end of 2021. I was told to undergo further tests. My treatment lasted for four months. I have completed my treatment in Mumbai, and I think I have recovered completely, but it was a difficult journey and the emotions are bound to stay with you for a while."
