Jay and Mahhi had dreamed of having a baby girl as their first child. In an interview with the IANS, Jay had talked about becoming a father of a baby girl and had shared, "No relationship in the world can match the sanctity of a father-daughter relationship. I wish that my wife gives birth to a baby girl. I have no gender preference and it is not that I won’t like it if it’s a boy. It’s just that I have experienced the father-son connect with my dad, and now, I want to see how a daughter bonds with her dad."
In another interview with the IANS, Jay had talked about embracing parenthood again and had said, "It is a fascinating feeling to be a parent all over again and it is even more thrilling because this is our first kid together. I want to help Mahi in whatever ways possible. I would want Mahi to take complete care of herself and our baby, so to help her not missing out on her sleep later in the months, I am learning lullabies and practicing it daily."
The actor had further shared how he is honing his lullaby skills, "I spoke to all the captains -- Salman Ali, Sachin Valmiki, Nitin Kumar and Jyotica Tangri and, they came up with this idea to learn lullabies. Not confident of pulling it off, I told them it's not possible for me to do. But they are giving me all the confidence. I told them not to force me, but they are all too excited to teach me. So, I am finally taking lullaby classes now." (Don't Miss: Neena Gupta Talks About Her Regret Of Having Her Daughter, Masaba Gupta Out Of Wedlock)
