It was on March 12, 2023, when Snehlata Dixit passed away at the age of 90. The veteran lady was about to turn 91 on June 27, 2023, but unfortunately, destiny had other plans. Snehlata Dixit’s daughter and actress, Madhuri Dixit broke the news of her mother’s demise in the media with a heavy heart. The actress shared a joint statement with her husband, Dr Shriram Nene, in which she admitted that they’re deeply saddened by the major loss of their lives but are content with the fact that their mother passed away peacefully.
Madhuri Dixit also revealed that her mother, Snehlata Dixit died in the presence of her loved ones and family. All the people who respected and loved her were beside her during her last moments. Although the reason behind Snehlata’s demise is unknown but as per some early reports, the veteran lady passed away due to age-related health problems.

On March 13, 2023, Madhuri Dixit took to her Instagram handle and posted a cutesy picture with her mother, Snehlata Dixit. In the picture, while the doting mother can be spotted sitting on a comfy chair, it was Madhuri, who can be seen sitting on her toes while holding her mommy’s arm and posing for the camera. The mother-daughter duo looked stunning in their respective outfits. In the background, we can also look at the house's jaw-dropping aesthetics. However, it was the charm of the mother-daughter duo that won our hearts. Although the picture brought a smile to everyone’s faces, it also made everyone’s eyes a little blurry, realising the fact that Snehlata is no longer with us.
Along with this priceless picture, Madhuri Dixit penned a note in the caption where she opened up about her mother, Snehlata Dixit's absence. The doting daughter shared how she felt surreal after waking up to the reality that her mother is no longer in her room. Madhuri revealed in her note that her mother always taught her to celebrate and embrace life. The doting daughter also praised and stated that her mother had done so much for everyone, and she will live on in everyone’s memories. Ultimately, Madhuri praised her mother for being witty, positive, and full of grace. Her note in the caption can be read as:
"Woke up this morning to find Aai’s room empty. It feels surreal. She taught us to embrace and celebrate life. She gave so much to so many people. We will miss her dearly but she will live on in our memories. Her wit, positivity and grace were infectious. We will celebrate her life together through our memories. Om shanti om."

For the unversed, Snehlata Dixit was married to Shankar Dixit, who was an engineer by profession. The couple welcomed four kids, three daughters, Madhuri Dixit, Bharati Dixit Adkar, Rupa Dixit Dandekar, and a son, Ajit Dixit. It was on September 13, 2013, when Shankar Dixit had passed away at the age of 91.
