Someone, somewhere is made for you – this line perfectly fits for the beautiful actress, Madhuri Dixit, who was at the peak of her career, when she had met the man of her dreams, Sriram Nene. It was on her brother’s request that Madhuri had met Dr Nene. As destiny would have it, the two had become friends after several meetings, which had eventually turned into love and marriage. She was the ruling queen of Bollywood when she had decided to get married and start a family. It was sheer love because of which, she had decided to tie the knot at the peak of her career.
Just like any other regular couple, Madhuri Dixit and Sriram Nene too love cooking together. The couple often posts videos of cooking dishes like poha and modaks. They also indulge in some fun banters and we have often seen how Madhuri teaches Marathi words to her hubby. In an interview with ETimes, Madhuri shared that she learnt most of the cooking after marriage and said, “When I was growing up, I knew a little bit of cooking. I could make an omelette or batatyachi bhaaji or poha... those kind of things. I never had the opportunity to cook because I started working very early in life and got busy. I learnt most of the cooking that I know today after I got married. Ram had a French cook there (in the US), and he assisted him as a sous chef. So, he has learnt a lot of recipes, which he can make from scratch - be it continental, French or Italian cuisine.”
Revealing how she adds Indian touch to her food and that Ram is a better cook than her, she stated, “The Indian part of the cooking is what I picked up from my mom. All the dishes that I make are my mom’s recipes, so he learnt the Indian cooking from my mom and a little bit from me as well (laughs!). On October 7, 2020, Madhuri had taken to her IG handle and had shared a video of her hubby, Sriram Nene trying to make her favourite dish, sabudana khichdi. As she guided him, Sriram had asked his wife about a particular ingredient, to which she had responded that it was cumin. Their conversation had turned into a hilarious banter when he had asked her what was cumin called in different languages. Madhuri had captioned the video as “Come and learn how to make one of my all time favourites, #SabudhanaKhichidi with Ram and me.”
In a throwback interview with Simi Garewal for her show, Rendezvous with Simi Garewal, Madhuri Dixit had revealed that she used to wake up early just to cook for her husband. She had stated, "I used to make breakfast for my husband when he was in cardiovascular surgery. I used to wake up at 5:30, make breakfast for him, of course he used to leave for work and I used to go back to sleep for some time. I savoured every minute of it."
