Though it’s not completely a college love story, but Shailesh and Ashita first met in college. At that point of time they did not take it too seriously and they sort of forgot each other. But Ashita had a crush on Shailesh for a long time. However, her feelings didn’t fade away with time. It was later when they met as TV stars at a Star Parivaar Awards party that Ashita banked upon the opportunity and asked one of her friends to introduce her to him. Thereafter, their amazing courtship period started.
Ashita and Shailesh came closer and closer over time and became best friends. Well, the whole dating thing for them was like talking about their families, getting to know one another and feeling good to be around. Strangely enough, they never popped the question to each other. In fact, it was all mutual and things fell together for them.

Four years after their courtship they got married. It was a love marriage with no filmy proposals. They couldn’t do without each other was the reason enough to tie the knots. They had a love-cum-arranged marriage on January 20, 2010 with their parents’ consent.
Actor Shailesh said in an interview:
"I have not yet digested the fact that we are married. We still go out like friends. Ashita is the perfect wife and her best quality is that she is not demanding. She is happy with small gestures and that keeps my stress level low (laughs)."
Spending quality time with your spouse is a distant dream for many city couples. But for Shailesh and Ashita it was like being with each other throughout the day. Seems the duo has taken the wedding vows of being together a way too seriously and stick to each other on their acting sets. Be it reel or real life, this actor couple is always by each other’s side. Yes, they are partners and colleagues in a number of television shows. They both were co-stars to each other in laughter competition, Hans Baliye and dance reality show Nach Baliye.
As per Shailesh:
“The advantage of being cast together is going together on the sets.”

Ashita said:
“When Shailesh is driving, I do my make-up. When I am with any other co-star, I am focusing on myself, but with my husband, I have to see to it that it’s good overall.”
Well, sharing holidays and work-offs together must be interesting for the career couples. With no conflicts in their schedules, they must be enjoying a great family time.
This actor couple welcomed a boy, Arhmaan and a girl, Amaira on November 20, 2012. In an interview, Ashita said:
"It's a life-changing phase. My babies have given birth to the mother in me. They are a literal version of 'Hum Do Hamare Do' gifted to us by God.”
We wish them all the best for the hectic yet fun-loving parenthood phase.
For many, taking on the husband’s surname after marriage is an outdated practice. But it’s different with actress Ashita and in fact, she loves the rechristening of her name. The happily-married Ashita likes her name with a new prefix and wants everyone to address her as Ashita Dhawan Gulabani.
This is what Ashita has to say:
“Initially I did not change my name because my fans know me well by this name and identify easily. Now I think they also know that I am happily married with Sailesh, thus I am ready to start using his name too and that's how I would like to be known from now on."
