Paparazzi – a culture that had taken the intrusion of privacy for celebrities to a whole new level as till a few years ago, no one had either heard about it or wasn’t aware of such concept. A lot has changed over these few years and just when the paparazzi culture was fairly new for the celebrities themselves, their kids were introduced to the limelight with cameras following and capturing their every move. Some celebrities are okay with being clicked, some request the paparazzi for privacy. But more than celebrities, it is their little ones, who are exposed to this culture at such a young age that concerns every parent. Time and again, the celeb couples have expressed their concern over it and the line of privacy which was at times crossed by the paparazzi. Parents of two most papped celeb kids of B-town, Kareena Kapoor Khan (Taimur Ali Khan) and Kunal Kemmu (Inaaya Naumi Kemmu) spoke about the paparazzi culture and spilt some beans on their family secrets. In one of the episodes of Kareena’s talk show, What Women Want, Kunal spoke about fatherhood, the moments when he felt he had achieved all as a dad, his relationship with wife, Soha Ali Khan and he also gave away some hypothetical awards in the Pataudi family. When Kareena asked him to name whom from the family would get an award to the made-up categories, Kunal gave the first one to his daughter, Inaaya, which was for being the biggest diva.
Addressing the elephant in the room, Kareena Kapoor Khan asked Kunal Kemmu to comment on the paparazzi culture and he recalled the most dangerous incident of their kids, Taimur Ali Khan and Inaaya Naumi Kemmu with the photographers. Beginning with how paparazzi is fairly a new phenomenon for them as well, Kunal said, “You know, there are times when I don’t think much about it but then, there are times when it bothers me. Honestly, that is the only answer I have for this kyunki humare liye bhi yeh paparazzi culture bahut naya hai. I think Taimur is the first baby who brought in this baby paparazzi culture kyunki usse ek saal pehle hum bhi used to ho rahe the ki pehli baar mujhe laga ki restaurant se bahar nikle aur photo kheench rahe the, maine kaha, ‘’Yeh kya hogaya?’ Toh woh itna naya tha aur jab shuru bhi hua toh mujhe aisa lagta hai ki even though humein yeh chiz samajh aati hai, unhe yeh pata nahi hai. And I think it’s slightly unfair to them.”
Recalling a dangerous incident when Taimur Ali Khan and Inaaya Naumi Kemmu were clicked by the paparazzi with the zoom lens, Kunal Kemmu continued, “But I also have to say ki to a certain extent abhi tak jo paparazzi culture hai, they have been pretty respectful of the time if you tell them ki, ‘Nahin’, then they say no. It got a bit dangerous, I remember jab Tim and Inaaya had gone to some swimming pool and durr se kisi ne zoom lens se liya tha. That I am completely against. That is not okay. A parent has to be aware ki aisa ho raha hai. When Kareena Kapoor Khan asked him, “Tell us about a time when you thought that you had achieved it all as a dad”, Kunal Kemmu retorted, “Mujhe nahi lagta ki ek aisa moment hota hai kyunki yeh moment aate rehte hain. Aaj, in fact, yeh hua, Soha ghar pe nahi thi aur main laptop pe kuch kaam kar raha tha aur vo khaana khaane apne kamre me jar ahi thi toh she came running to my room. And she said, “Papa I’m going to have lunch now. After that you’ll come and play with me?” I said, “Yeah of course, you just tell me whenever you want me to come.” She said, “Papa I love you.” I said, “I love you”. Then she said, “I love you to the moon and back.” Mujhe nahi pata yeh usne kab seekha hai. Maybe it was something Soha said. Mere liye pehli baar yeh hua and you know, that was the moment where I am like, beta sab le jaa. Bol kya chahiye tujhe. Toh I think these moments keep happening where you feel that I don’t know what more I can feel as a father.”
A few days ago, Soha Ali Khan had posted a super-adorable video of Kunal Kemmu and Inaaya Naumi Kemmu, and even after watching it so many times on loop, it can still melt our heart like the first time. Soha had captioned the video as "Daddy duty seems to be going well today! #yousaiduna @khemster2." In the video, as Kunal was braiding Inaaya’s doll’s hair, she wasn’t clearly impressed by his skills and not only did he mispronounce the unicorn’s name, but he had also taken a lot of time to make the hairstyle, which made Inni ‘tired’.
