It was in 2012 when Kim Kardashian and Kanye West had begun dating and in 2013, he had proposed her using the giant screen at the empty waterfront ballpark of the San Francisco Giants. After welcoming their first child, North "Nori" West in June 2013, Kim and Kanye had exchanged wedding vows on May 24, 2014, in a ceremony at a Renaissance fortress in Florence, Italy. The now-estranged couple had welcomed their second child, Saint West in December 2015 and the next two kids, Chicago West and Psalm West via surrogacy in 2018 and 2019 respectively.
Ever since the reports of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s divorce had emerged in the media, fans are eager to know what went wrong in their close to seven years of marriage. According to the documents obtained by thesun.co.uk, 'irreconcilable differences' were cited as the real reason behind their separation in the divorce papers. As per the reports, Kim had filed for the divorce and Kanye is mentioned as the respondent. The divorce papers also revealed that Kim has applied for the physical custody of their four children and requested that both her and Kanye's ability to award spousal support be terminated.
A couple of weeks ago, it was reported that the trouble in Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s married life had apparently begun when he made a controversial statement that slavery was a choice. Us Weekly quoted a source as saying, "The turning point in Kim and Kanye's marriage was when he said that slavery was a choice." The source had continued, "They went through a really rough patch in the aftermath of that. Kim was completely mortified by Kanye's ridiculous and outrageous comments." And things finally took its worst turn when Kayne started sharing personal details in the media. Being a celebrity isn’t a cakewalk as one is constantly under media scrutiny. In 2019, Grammy award-winner, Kayne West, for the first time, had interviewed his wife, fashion mogul, Kim Kardashian. When Kayne had asked, “We are constantly in the news, and sometimes we end up reading unpleasant things about ourselves. Does it affect you?” Kim had retorted, “When it’s about my family, I get really protective. Most of the time when things are so baseless or absurd, I have a good laugh. But as far as dealing with it on a daily level for me, I’m pretty content. If it’s about you, or the kids, or my sisters, I can get worked up when I read things that are false or negative. But when it’s about me, I’ve learned how to block out the noise for the most part.”
Revealing what she had thought of Kayne West when she first met him, Kim Kardashian had remarked, “This was before you released your first album and you were known as a music producer. I was really shy. You thought I was Brandy’s assistant, which I wasn’t. Ever since you said that, it’s everywhere… like “Kim is Brandy’s assistant.” I was her friend and stylist. [laughs].
