Kartik has been hitting it to the headlines lately because of his relationship rumours with Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter, Sara Ali Khan. Kartik, just like any other person, is close to his family. On March 31, 2019, Kartik’s darling sister, Kritka Tiwari graduated and bagged her MBBS degree. There could have been no proud moment as this and not just Kritika, but everyone in their home is rejoicing this achievement. So much so that Kartik, who couldn’t be there by his sister’s side during the convocation made sure to make it special for her.
Kartik took to his official Instagram handle and shared a few lovely clicks. Here’s what he put up as the caption, “Wish you a very Happy Birthday 'Doctor' Kittu and its a double celebration for us in the family as you hold your MBBS degree today. Mummy-Papa ka sapna poora hua. Main na sahi, tum toh Doctor bani @dr.kiki_ So so proud of you and sorry my little sister for not being able to be with you on your special day... Love you a lot.”
In August 2018, Rakshabandhan, Kartik was with his family, his sister, in hometown Gwalior. Expressing his happiness of celebrating the occasion with his sister after six year, Kartik was quoted as saying, “I am in my home-town Gwalior. After six years I am in my home-town for Raksha Bandhan, and that too for work. I’m shooting for Dinesh Vijeyan’s Lukka Chuppi with Kriti Sanon in Gwalior. He had added, “She lives in Bhopal now. But she’s here in Gwalior for Raksha Bandhan. Mummy and Papa are already here. So it’s a family reunion for me. I will remember this Raksha Bandhan as a celebration far beyond Raksha Bandhan. Further, revealing about the gift for his lovely sister, Kritika, he had added, “I saw the screen of her phone is broken. So, I bought a new phone for her for Raksha Bandhan. There was a time when I couldn’t afford to give her expensive gifts. Every Raksha Bandhan I gave my sister 11 only. I don’t think she will be happy if I give her rupees 11 now. She is very clear about being a material girl and she’s most happy to accept expensive gifts from me.”
And went on to remark, “Today I’m getting so much attention in my home town. I love it. But it is my family that keeps me grounded and reminds me of who I am. I hope they will never allow me to change. As for my sister, she will stop talking to me if I behave a like a star with her. The only change she enjoys in me is the gift that I can afford now that I couldn’t earlier.”
Sharing his bond with mom, Mala Tiwari, Kartik had once told an online portal, “She is my best friend — the strongest woman I’ve ever known in my life. She’s supportive, independent and from my childhood days till today, I’ve seen her struggles and I think that has made her stronger. The positive attitude she has towards everything even if it’s not working, I’ve adopted the same. He also went on to reveal who is a lenient amongst his mom and dad, and had remarked, “She was very strict. While growing up, I used to sleep at 8pm and get up at 4am to study. And this was until I was in class 10, as she wanted me to score big in board exams. But I’d secretly watch wrestling and cricket on TV when she wasn’t around, and she used to catch me and tell me that I need to study first. Now, I realise that it actually helped me grow and inculcated discipline in me.”
Revealing if his mother is always aware about his girlfriends, Kartik went on to add, “She knows everything about my life — not just career but even my personal life. Whichever girls I was friends with or dated, she knows them all. She’d add them on Facebook and then starts chatting with them (laughs). Woh sab social media platforms par hain, unhe bahut shauk hai. She is very informed that way and she has learned it from me.”
