He doesn't shy away from sharing deets of his personal life with his fans. However, the actor shares a close bond with his little sister, Kritika Tiwari. Last year, when Kritika had bagged her MBBS Degree, Kartik was not able to attend her convocation but he had made sure to share a special note of appreciation for his sister.
On April 1, 2020, Kartik's sister turned a year older, and the actor wore the baker's hat and baked a special cake for her. While his attempt was appreciated but the cake turned out to be a big biscuit according to Kartik. He shared pictures on his Instagram handle, and wrote, "Lockdown ka fayda - Celebrating Kittu’s bday together after 7 years. Chota Cake Banane gaya , Bada Biscuit ban gaya Happy Birthday Doctor KiKi. Last week, Kartik's sister had shared a video of her brother washing the dishes and she informed Kartik's fans that this is not an effect of quarantine but a regular scene at their home. In the video, we could see Kartik washing the dishes and it was captioned as "Dont mistake this for Quarantine. This is the usual scene at home @kartikaaryan." In the year 2018, Kartik had gotten the chance to celebrate Rakshabandhan with his sister, Kritika after so many years. In an interview with the National Herald, Kartik had talked about the emotional moment and had shared, "I am in my home-town Gwalior. After six years I am in my home-town for Raksha Bandhan, and that too for work. I’m shooting for Dinesh Vijeyan’s Lukka Chuppi with Kriti Sanon in Gwalior. This is a rare chance I’ve to be home with my sister for Raksha Bandhan."
In the same interview, Kartik had also revealed the gift he had given his sister and had said, "I saw the screen of her phone is broken. So, I bought a new phone for her for Raksha Bandhan. There was a time when I couldn’t afford to give her expensive gifts. Every Raksha Bandhan I gave my sister 11 only. I don’t think she will be happy if I give her ₹11 now. She is very clear about being a material girl and she’s most happy to accept expensive gifts from me."
