Kareena Trolled For Posting Taimur's Photo Post Rishi Kapoor's Death Is Why Grief-Shaming Must End

Goodbyes are the hardest and when a loved one leaves us forever, it gives us an unsettling feeling. It is said that with time, our coping mechanisms help us get our life back on track, but time doesn’t heal the pain and instead makes it bearable. The sombre days and gloomy nights, there’s no timeline for grief as we all do it at our own pace. So, it’s high time that trolls must stop grief-shaming celebrities over mourning the loss of their loved ones. Be it Janhvi Kapoor celebrating her birthday a few days after her mother, Sridevi’s death, Sonam Kapoor getting married two months after her aunt, Sridevi’s demise or Nysa Devgan going to parlour the next day after her paternal grandfather passed away, the trolls need to stop shaming celebrities and decide on their behalf how to deal with the loss of a dear one. (Also Read: Sanjay Dutt Remembers Mother, Nargis Dutt On Her 39th Death Anniversary, Pens An Emotional Note)

Raj Kapoor and Krishna Raj Kapoor’s son, Rishi Kapoor had taken his last breath on April 30, 2020. Rishi Kapoor was admitted to the Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre and a day later, he had left for the heavenly abode. Neetu Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor were there by his side, but Rishi Kapoor’s daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni wasn’t able to meet her father for the last time as she was in Delhi. Randhir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan were the first ones to reach the hospital as soon as they had heard the news.

Two days after her uncle, Rishi Kapoor’s demise, on May 2, 2020, Kareena Kapoor Khan had posted a picture of Saif Ali Khan and Taimur Ali Khan on her Instagram handle. Saif had turned a hairstylist for Taimur and Kareena had captioned the picture as “Haircut anyone?” But this picture didn’t go well with some netizens and they targeted her with meanest comments on social media. Some of the comments can be read as “Your family had such a big loss just a few days ago. How can u joke even?” and “aren’t u supposed to be mourning? Should’ve respect that by not posting anything on ur ig as if nothing happened.” Reading such comments, we feel that the judgemental trolls must end now and netizens need to learn to live and let live.

Today, everyone speaks of the legend that is Rishi Kapoor... and though I have known him like that all my life... for the past two years, I have known him as a friend, a fellow Chinese food lover, a total cinema lover, a fighter, a leader, a beautiful storyteller, an extremely passionate tweeter and a father! In these past two years, the love I have received from him is a warm hug that I will always cherish! I thank the universe for giving me this opportunity to know him... today probably most of us can say he is like family - because that's how he made you feel. Love you, Rishi Uncle! Will miss you forever! Thank you for being you!"
