For the unversed, it was on December 20, 2016, when Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan had welcomed the little prince of Pataudi khandan, Taimur Ali Khan into their lives. With those chubby red cheeks and blue eyes, Taimur had made his way into the hearts of millions and netizens still drool over his cuteness. After almost four years of Taimur’s birth, in the month of August 2020, Saif and Kareena had announced the news of expecting baby number 2 with an official statement. It could be read as "We are very pleased to announce that we are expecting an addition to our family!! Thank you to all our well-wishers for all their love and support.”

Did you know that Kareena always wanted to have a girl child when she was pregnant with Taimur? Yes, in 2016, Kareena had expressed her desire to have a girl child, when she was expecting her first baby. The actress had reportedly said that wherever she goes, she is only asked whether ‘it is a boy or a girl?’ Kareena had further added that to her it will make no difference if the baby born is a boy or a girl. She had also added that being a girl, she would love to have a girl as she has done more for her parents than a son would have done.

Kareena is known for her unconventional choices and even during her first pregnancy, she had given a strong message about girl child. She had addressed everyone, who thinks a girl child is a taboo and is not equal enough, and had said that these people should know that a woman is the only soul that is bestowed with the right to carry another soul in her.
Well, even if Kareena was blessed with a baby boy as her first child, the feeling of holding him was surreal for the parents. In the month of September 2020, Kareena had shared a video on her IG feed, and the soon-to-be second-time parents had spoken about the ‘surreal’ feeling of holding their little one for the first time in their arms. When asked, “What was it like to hold your baby for the first time?” while Kareena had said, “Even though I carried him for nine months, I think every mother experiences this. In a conversation with The Times of India, Kareena Kapoor Khan’s father and nanu-to-be, Randhir Kapoor had shared if the family wants a baby boy or a baby girl as Kareena’s second child. He had said, “No preferences, daughter or son. We just want a healthy, happy child. And, let me tell you that the entire khandaan is looking forward to this."
