And one such very happening step-mom and daughter pair is Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sara Ali Khan. Sara is Saif Ali Khan’s daughter from his first marriage to Amrita Singh. The duo is all praises for each other whenever they are asked about their camaraderie. Sara, who is all geared-up for her soon-to-release film, Kedarnath, spoke about the one thing that she likes the best in stepmom Kareena, in an interview with Red FM. Sara replied, “Ki woh unki favourite hai. (That she is her own favourite person) 'Main apni favourite hoon!' I have grown up watching K3G. I sometimes can't associate her beyond Poo. It's really shocking.”

And now step-mommy Kareena Kapoor Khan got all candid when asked about her relationship with Sara. Giving her the biggest and sweetest compliment, the Veere Di Wedding star revealed it all! In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Kareena stated, “Sara is a rare combination of beauty and brains and that has happened to the Indian film industry after a long time. She can hold a conversation with anyone and at the same time give a shot in which she’s looking absolutely gorgeous. She has all it takes and I think she will be one of the brightest stars on the screen. I can only hope and pray for the best for her.”
Does Kareena behave like their ‘second mother’ when she is around Ibrahim and Sara? The gorgeous Chameli star stated in the same interview, “I have always said this to Saif, Sara and Ibrahim that I can only be their friend, I can never be their mother because they already have an amazing mother who’s brought them up spectacularly. In one of her previous interviews, Kareena got all candid when she spoke about her relationship with Sara. The Ashoka star had stated, “We're like best friends. Saif refuses to come out with us. She's my bar hopping partner. I enjoy my equation with her." She further stated, "It's pretty amazing, they have a wonderful mother. They are the most well-brought-up children. I always remember Sara standing up and doing adab. Both Sara and Ibrahim are like that. I am like a friend for them. At times me and Sara chat over a glass of champagne. That's the way Saif wanted and that's the way I wanted it. Whenever she wants to call me she does at time when Saif isn't around and she doesn't want to talk to him. She talks to me.”
Sara too, opened up about her relationship with Kareena in Koffee With Karan season 6. Sharing about the same, she shared, “You know everybody has been very clear with me. It has never been confusing. Kareena herself was saying and she still says that 'You have a mother and you have a great mother at that. What I want is for us to be able to be friends.' My father also never said, 'This is your second mother' or made it anyway uncomfortable.”
Do you know, Sara was in a sheer dilemma about the name by which she will call her step-mom, Kareena. Revealing the same, the 25-year-old star kid said, “I think Kareena would probably have a nervous breakdown if I was going to call her, 'Choti Ma'. She would be like, 'No!' Sometime back a source shared with a leading daily a furious Amrita not liking the way Sara dressed herself. The source had stated, "Amrita did not like Sara flaunting her midriff in the short top. The actress usually sports long flowing kurtas and churidar and likes Sara also to dress up in the same way (they even posed together wearing similar outfits for a magazine cover). If you see the youngster's earlier pictures at award shows and events, you will find her dressed in either lehengas and tops or flowing kurtas covered from top to toe. She feels that Sara is now getting overly influenced by her stepmom Bebo, while the fact is she wants to bring her daughter up the way she wants to."
When these statements were brought under Amrita’s notice, she immediately refuted all such rumours and retorted, “I have a problem with the way my daughter dresses? And I resent Sara’s rapport with Kareena? Absolutely untrue! I don’t have any problem with Sara and Kareena’s equation at all. I totally approved of Sara’s attire for Kareena’s party.” She had further continued, “I’m being hauled over the coals for disapproving of Sara’s outfit for the party. Let me tell you, I was the one who put together the entire wardrobe for my daughter that evening. I also dressed up both my kids, Sara and Ibrahim, for Saif’s wedding with Kareena.”
