The debate around the existence of nepotism in the Bollywood industry has hit the internet again. A few hours back, when film producer, Karan Johar announced that Shanaya Kapoor would make her Bollywood debut under his production house, Dharma Productions. The announcement is receiving massive criticism on social media, and Karan is facing all the heat from netizens over his decision of launching another star-kid under his renowened and one of the most successful banners in Indian cinema. For the unversed, Shanaya Kapoor is the daughter of Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor. After the success of Anil Kapoor's daughter, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja in the film industry, it was Boney Kapoor's daughter, Janhvi Kapoor, who had made her debut in Bollywood with Dhadak and has almost found her feet in the industry. Now, the long wait to see Sanjay Kapoor's daughter, Shanaya taking the legacy of Kapoor girls forward is finally over, as she's going to start filming for her debut film in July 2021.
On March 22, 2021, film producer, Karan Johar took to his Instagram handle and shared a sizzling video of Sanjay Kapoor's daughter, Shanaya Kapoor as he announced her much-awaited debut in Bollywood. The young diva looked breathtakingly beautiful in the video and looked nothing-less-than a stunner. Along with the video, Karan penned a long important note in the caption of his video, in which he revealed that Shanaya is going to start the shooting of her debut film under Dharma Production from July 2021. The producer, who had also launched his cousin sister, Janhvi Kapoor also praised Shanaya for her sheer enthusiasm and perseverance. However, Karan Johar's announcement didn't go well on the internet with the fans and admirers of the Indian cinema, as the comment section of his post is filled with ruthless trolls and mean comments. On one side, some trolled him for again launching a star-kid and not changing after the demise of late Bollywood actor, Sushant Singh Rajput, who was termed and treated as an outsider. On the other side, many people questioned Shanaya's acting skills, as the whole video was all about her glamorous looks, which didn't impress people a lot, as they called her a 'barbie doll'. Despite all the trolling and negative response from everyone all over the internet, Karan Johar dropped six pictures of Shanaya from the previously-shared video on his IG handle. However, there's one super-happy man, who is proud of Shanaya Kapoor in the middle of all this, and for him, this is the most special day of his life. Yes! You guessed it right.
