Kangana Ranaut Recalls Acid Attack On Sister, Rangoli, 'I Feared Anyone Passing Me Might Throw Acid'

Kangana Ranaut recalled the acid attack on her elder sister, Rangoli Chandel. Kangana also mentioned how she herself started to fear strangers passing by her might throw acid.

Kangana Ranaut Recalls Acid Attack On Sister, Rangoli, 'I Feared Anyone Passing Me Might Throw Acid'

Queen of Bollywood, Kangana Ranaut recalled a horrifying incident from the past, which left a stain in her heart. Kangana is closest to her elder sister, Rangoli Chandel, and she dotes on her like no other. But once Rangoli had faced an unfortunate acid attack, after which she had faced countless nights of physical and mental trauma. 

But it was Kangana who always stood by her sister’s side throughout her journey to recovery. After a 17-year-old girl faced an acid attack in Delhi by Dwarka’s men, Kangana took to her IG handle on December 15, 2022, and recalled the horrifying incident that her sister, Rangoli had faced some years ago. She revealed that Rangoli had to undergo 52 surgeries and unimaginable mental and physical trauma. She wrote:

“When I was a teenager my sister @rangoli r chandel was attacked with acid by a road side Romeo.... She had to go through 52 surgeries, unimaginable amount of mental and physical trauma.... We as a family were devastated.”

It was not easy for Kangana to move past the unfortunate incident. She had become so scared that she used to cover her face whenever a stranger passed by her side on a bike or a car. Kangana also mentioned that she had taken multiple therapy sessions to calm her mind. She penned:

“I also had to go through therapy because I feared anyone passing me might throw acid on me which caused me to cover my face violently in a reflex action every time a biker a car a stranger crossed me.”

After the recent incident in Delhi, Kangana urged the government to take strict actions against the acid attackers. She requested the government to act strongly so that this kind of unforgivable crime could be stopped in the nation. Her caption can be read as:

“These atrocities haven't stopped. Government need to act very strongly against these crimes...I do agree with @gautamgambhir55 we need to take very strict measures against acid attackers...”

On the personal front, Rangoli is married and also has a son. Kangana shares a warm bond with her sister’s baby boy and often takes her time off from the cinema to play with him. Earlier, Rangoli had shared a picture on her IG handle of her baby boy enjoying his heart out with his maasi, Kangana.
