From her first novel, Paradise Towers becoming the bestseller in India to launching her own fashion label, Shweta Bachchan has broken the stereotype and has proved that she doesn’t have to be in the same profession as her parents and brother to make a name for herself in the glamour world. Hailing from such a powerful family, Shweta had always made heads turn with her unique and classy style quotient. Shweta is an independent, grounded and a successful designer, she recently walked the ramp for one of her collections making her parents proud especially her mother, Jaya Bachchan.
Recently, Shweta organised a fashion show for her label MxS World. In the show, Shweta walked the ramp wearing a customised denim jacket with her father’s picture printed on the sleeves. It was a proud moment for Shweta’s mother, Jaya Bachchan to witness her daughter walk the ramp donning a picture of her father on her sleeve. After the show got over, Jaya ji, who turned a cheerleader for her daughter gave her a warm hug. It was a sight to behold.
It was not a proud moment for Jaya Bachchan only, but Amitabh Bachchan too shared his happiness on the same. Amitabh ji had also shared pictures from the fashion show on his Instagram handle and had written an emotional note for his daughter, Shweta Bachchan Nanda. His note could be read as "Progeny pride, moist eyes, ever to see the achievement of kids. Love you Mama." The Bachchan and Nanda pariwar were filled with proud emotions as Shweta Bachchan Nanda had launched her fashion line, MxS World in collaboration with designer, Monisha Jaising. Amitabh Bachchan had shared through his Twitter handle how proud he was of his little daughter, Shweta and had tweeted, “Yeh garv hai mera, beti betiyaan jab ubhar kar aati hain, apne dum par kuch kar ke humein dikhaati hain, motiyon se piroyi hui yeh mala, aise karna gehna yeh anmol hai, isse surakshit rakhna. (I am proud that my daughters have found success on their own, they are like beads of a necklace; such jewels are precious, keep them safe).”
While we all know, Shweta is one of the most glamorous ladies in the B-town, not many know her love for fashion grew when she was just a kid surrounded by the Kanjevaram sarees of her mother, Jaya Bachchan. In an interview with The Times of India, the diva had revealed, “My mum’s Kanjevaram sarees that were spread out on the bed. That’s how I would know that my parents are going out. And when she would be pleating her saree, I would sit on the floor and help her adjust the pleats.”
Sometime back, Shweta had shared an adorable photo of her mother, Jaya Bachchan wearing a ‘Girl Power’ t-shirt. She had captioned it as “My mother truly embodies Girl Power. She’s brought me up to be strong, brave, and soft. She holds us all together and drives us to do more be more. My strength and guiding light.” It truly summarised the feelings of every daughter for her mother.
