If her contemporary Sara Ali Khan has been making the news for her rumoured link-ups with Sushant Singh Rajput and Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor too, is grabbing the headlines for her personal life. With their debut film with Dharma Productions, Janhvi and Ishaan Khatter became the Dhadak of the nation, and they are being pampered by not only the film fraternity but also the paparazzi and fans. Janhvi and Ishaan are rumoured to be dating since forever, but somehow, the two debutant’s 'neither admitting nor denying' game has left their fans puzzled. Though Janhvi Kapoor made her Bollywood debut with Dhadak in 2018, she rose to stardom way before, courtesy her star family of the Kapoors. Daughter of Sridevi and Boney Kapoor, Janhvi has been linked with her co-star, Shahid Kapoor’s brother, Ishaan Khatter and they share ‘a good comfortable level between them’. Speaking of the chemistry between them, Ishaan had stated, “We share a wonderful camaraderie and it translates on screen. There’s a good comfort level between us. (Laughs) I used to think Janhvi was a quiet girl, but she is a big bully.”
In a recent chat show, Janhvi Kapoor addressed her link-up rumours with Ishaan Khatter and her dad, Boney Kapoor's opinion about him. Speaking about her father, Boney Kapoor having an opinion to offer on the boys she dates, Janhvi shared, "Dad screens all my dates, except for the fact that I don't have many dates. Because papa thinks no boy ever is good enough for me." When asked what dad, Boney Kapoor thinks about her "friend" Ishaan, Janhvi said, "Dad thinks Ishaan is a lovely actor and he is very talented. He is a very nice boy."
Sometime back, Ishaan Khatter had posted a picture of his ‘muse’, Janhvi Kapoor bathed in the pretty blues of an evening sky, flashing a big smile while looking at her phone. He captioned it, “Y u photobomb?? Was going for a nice picture of open sky.” Soon his post flooded with the comments like "Dating for sure", "Awww best excuse for posting bae's pic", “Seems like u intentionally wanted to take her picture not the open sky because only she is focused other all are blurred! Whats going on ishaan?!”, “Ho Gaya hai tujh ko toh pyar ladke lakh kar le tu inkaar ladke hai ye pyar ladke”. On Koffee With Karan season 6, Karan Johar asked Janhvi on the show, "Conjecture is that you are dating Ishaan Khatter", to which she quickly replied, "I am not." Janhvi’s half-brother, Arjun Kapoor and Karan were not convinced when she said that she is not dating Ishaan, and the duo decided to dig into the matter deeper. Arjun responded to her denial, "He's always around her!", to which surprised Janhvi said, "Who's team are you on?"
When Ishaan Khatter and Shahid Kapoor featured on Koffee With Karan season 6, the whole matter took a different turn when the latter got offended by Arjun Kapoor’s statement about the Beyond the Clouds star, "Ishaan keeps buzzing around Janhvi". While Ishaan clarified by saying, "No we're not dating. We hangout, go to the gym, eat food, watch movies, and listen to South Indian music together.", Shahid took a dig on Arjun Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor. Shahid had said, "I don't know how often Arjun is around Janhvi to know how much Ishaan is buzzing around her. I wonder. Because I mean, are they around each other a lot?"
Shahid Kapoor went on to say, "For him (Arjun) to have so much detail into your buzzing. Or is he assuming that? Based on the basis of how much Janhvi talks about you or that he hears about it?" Ishaan then responded, "I am just generally buzzing around and some of it happens to be, sort of." To which, Shahid was quick to interrupt, "Ishaan is buzzing around most people. So, it's not that as if, it's, you know, Janhvi is not special like that. Okay? She should know this. He buzzes around a lot of people. He’s a buzzy guy." Shahid being a doting brother also said to Ishaan to do or say whatever he wants to, and he will always have his back.
