Though Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s daughter, Janhvi Kapoor had made her debut in the film industry in 2018 with Dharma Production film, Dhadak, she came in the limelight years before her first release, courtesy her star family. Hailing from the famous Kapoor family, Janhvi and her sister, Khushi Kapoor used to often accompany their star parents on events and shows. And just the way the glamour world works, Jahnvi’s personal life too became a subject of interest for the gossip mongers and media.
Before the release of her debut film, Dhadak, the rumours of Janhvi Kapoor and Akshat Ranjan dating emerged in the media and their social media feeds added the fuel to the fire. Rumours of Janhvi Kapoor and Akshat Ranjan’s relationship came into limelight when on her birthday on March 6, 2018, Akshat had posted a beautiful picture of them where they were all decked up with skyscrapers in the background. He had captioned the picture as “happy birthday” followed with a heart emoji. To which the Ghost Stories star had replied with an “ily” comment which is an abbreviation of ‘I Love You’. For the uninitiated, Akshat Ranjan is the son of a business giant, Abhijit Rajan (Chairman and Managing Director of Gammon India Limited). When Janhvi Kapoor had made her debut in Bollywood with Dhadak, to celebrate the success of her first film, her rumoured ‘boyfriend’ had customised a ‘D’-shaped flower bouquet and had presented it to his rumoured ‘girlfriend’, Janhvi. The starlet had posted an Instagram story on the same with the words, “Subtlety is not his thing” written atop of it.
In a chat show, Famously Filmfare, Janhvi Kapoor had addressed the rumours suggesting her romantic relationship with her childhood bestie, Akshat Ranjan. Revealing how Akshat is scared to be seen with her in public, Janhvi had stated, “The rumour mongers have also said that I am dating my childhood best friend called Akshat, who’s so scared to hang out with me now because he is too scared that we will be papped together. So that day, he came home for dad’s birthday and there were paps downstairs at Arjun bhaiyya‘s house, and he was hiding in a khopcha, put on a hoodie and all, and left. I was like, it’s okay.”
Janhvi Kapoor was later rumoured to be dating her Dhadak co-star, Ishaan Khatter and given the amazing chemistry the duo had in the film, their fans rooted for some probable ‘off-screen chemistry’ of these two too!
