Vashu Bhagnani and his son, Jackky Bhagnani, own and run one of India's most renowned production houses. However, for the past few years, the production house has not made any profit as all its films have tanked at the box office. And now it seems like the problems for the Bhagnani clan are only about to increase as they had to sell off their Mumbai office to pay their crew, whom they have allegedly not paid for the past two years.

Vashu Bhagnani and Jackky Bhagnani did not pay their workers for two years, while the latter had a lavish Goa wedding

Jackky Bhagnani married actress, Rakul Preet earlier this year in a lavish wedding in Goa. However, the crew members of Pooja Entertainment have not been paid for the last two years. As per multiple reports swirling on the internet, the production house is in debt of Rs. 250 crores, and none of their workers, actors, technicians, and crew members have been paid a penny for the last two years.

According to sources, Jackky has not paid fees to Akshay Kumar Tiger Shroff, Director Ali Abbas Jafar, and more than 100 crew members. Several company workers have taken to social media and revealed that they have not been paid for their hard work for the past two years. Seeing the gravity of the situation, the Bhagnanis have sold off their Mumbai property and even laid off eighty percent of their workforce.

Jackky and Vashu Bhagnani's production faced a major blow after the failure of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan

A source close to Vashu Bhagnani revealed that the production house has been facing financial troubles since the pandemic, and their film, Bell Bottom, flopped at the box office. After this, they invested Rs. 350 crore in the movie, Bade Miyan Chote Miya, which also tanked at the box office. After this, Vashu reduced the majority of his workforce. The source further added:

"It all started with Bell Bottom, which was one of the first Hindi movie to be released in theatres post the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021. The film flopped badly at the box office and so did the next one, Mission Raniganj. The company faced another setback when the big-budget Ganapath failed to perform and was even rejected by Netflix despite an acquisition deal. Red flags had already begun to appear in the company's financial sheet by this point, and the enormous investment in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan made matters worse."

To make matters worse, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and Ali Abbas have sent a legal notice to Vashu Bhagnani to retrieve their balance. Having no other option left, the Bhagnanis sold their Mumbai house to a builder who would turn the space into a luxurious residential project on the plot.
