Sometime back, we had brought to you how television’s Prerna, Shweta Tiwari’s daughter, Palak Tiwari had a modified at-home workout routine with her baby brother, Reyansh Tiwari as her in-house equipment. And now, ace tennis player, Sania Mirza, once again, gives a sneak peek into her workout regime, wherein her little bundle of joy, Izhaan Mirza Malik helps his mommy with her flexibility. A couple of days back, Sania had posted a video of Izhaan playing tennis and had captioned it, "This was easy. Time to try the other sport my parents say they play a bit of too."
Then Sania Mirza, on Izhaan Mirza Malik’s official Instagram page, had given a glimpse of the yoga session of the little one. The caption of Izhaan’s video wherein he is doing the yoga poses can be read as “Gotta get my daily work out in so I can have more cookies and duddu later #lockdowndiaries.” Now, Sania posted an Insta story, doing her yoga with Izhaan on her back. She wrote, “I have no choice but to be flexible” atop it.
In February 2020, Sania Mirza had reposted a picture of Izhaan Mirza Malik, playing chess and it was Mohammad Asaduddin, who had titled the little star as a ‘Grand Master’. Dressed in a printed shirt and pyjamas, Izhaan had looked super-adorable as he played the game of chess. Sania had written, “That kind of morning” atop the picture. For the uninitiated, the one-and-a-half-year-old Izhaan already has an Instagram account, which is managed by his mommy, Sania. Speaking of Izhaan’s ‘Mirza Malik’ surname, during a panel discussion on "Gender Bias" at the Goa Fest 2018, Sania Mirza had expressed her wish to take her family name, Mirza, forward with her child. She was quoted as saying, “Today I will tell you a secret. My husband and I have spoken about it and we have decided that whenever we have a child, the child will have Mirza Malik as a surname and not just Malik. So that’s where we stand as a family including my husband. He actually wants a daughter.”
Sania Mirza had spoken about the gender discrimination that prevailed in her extended family, who would advise her parents to have a son so that their family can go ahead. There were times when she had to fight with her relatives over this. Sania’s parents never felt the need of a son to carry their legacy forward. Sania had elaborated, “We are two sisters and have never wished that we had a brother. I have had fights with my uncles and aunts, who talk about it or come up and tell my parents that they should have had a son. For us, daughters are daughters and there was nothing like wanting a son to carry the family name forward.” Emphasizing on the fact that daughters too can take a family name forward, Sania had asserted, “I have not changed my surname (post marriage) and my name is still Sania Mirza and it will remain that way. The family name is going to go forward.”
To make Izhaan Mirza Malik’s first birthday extra-special, his star mommy, Sania Mirza had posted a lovely wish for her aankhon ka taara. Sharing a picture of the ‘just born’ Izhaan, smiling on his first day in this world, Sania had written, “Exactly one year since you came into this world and became our world... you smiled the first day you were born and continue to spread smiles everywhere you go... my truest, purest most amazing boy... I LOVE YOU and I promise to be by your side until my last breath... Happy Birthday my little angel. I pray Allah gives you everything you work towards and desire and continue to grow into the most loving and gentle boy that you already are... InshaAllah...
