On November 28, 2019, Ajay and Kajol’s blockbuster film, Ishq completes 22 years and Ajay posted a still from the movie on his social media handle. The still featured him and his wife, he posted a cute caption along with the picture which could be read as “Neend churayi meri kisne o sanam? Tuneeeee @itsKajolD #22YearsOfIshq.” What had caught everyone's attention was his wife's reaction. It was his wife, Kajol’s epic reply which blew everyone’s mind. Ajay and Kajol are perfect exemplars of opposites attract. Ajay is considered as a private person and doesn’t open up that easily, his wife is a complete opposite to him. On Neha Dhupia's chat show, No Filter Neha, Kajol had shared that her father didn't talk to her for a week when she had expressed her desire to tie the knot with Ajay. In an interview with the DNA, Ajay had talked about the secret of his successful relationship with Kajol. He had said, "The best part is that we’ve never asked each other to be what we aren’t. If she needs space, she can have it and if I need space, she never grudges that. We can sit together in a room for hours, doing our own thing and we don’t feel uncomfortable that we’re not talking. You can only get along with people who are unobtrusive yet, at the same time, we’re together."
In an interview with HT Brunch, Kajol had talked about marriage and had said, "Contrary to what you may believe about marriage, it’s not all rosy in the beginning. Initially, you’re trying to please each other, feeling your way around, so it’s difficult to take the relationship to the next level. Only when the storm has settled, and the routine has set in – when you’ve seen the good, bad, indifferent sides of each other – does your relationship evolve. We work at our marriage.
