It was a pleasant surprise by Indian cricketer, Yuzvendra Chahal and his fiancée, Dhanashree Verma as they announced their wedding on December 22, 2020. It was in August when Yuzvendra Chahal had made his relationship official with Dhanashree Verma, a digital content creator, who describes herself as ‘Doctor, Choreographer, YouTuber, and the founder of Dhanashree Verma Company’ on her official Instagram account. To make his relationship official, Yuzvendra had posted pictures with Dhanashree from their roka ceremony. Yuzvendra had captioned his post as “We said “Yes” along with our families #rokaceremony.” While Yuzvendra and Dhanashree were flooded with congratulatory messages after announcing their rokafied status, the best one had come from the official page of Chennai Super Kings. Giving the best tip to Yuzvendra, CSK had tweeted, “Congratulations guys! Personal advise to Yuzi from the Kings: Surrender to the Queen, otherwise checkmate only!”
‘#DhanaSaidYuz for infinity & beyond!’ Joining the club of married couples, Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma finally walked down the aisle on December 22, 2020, and their wedding pictures were indeed a beautiful treat for their fans. For the wedding, Dhanashree made heads turn as a bride, looking resplendent in a traditional red Tarun Tahiliani lehenga with golden embroidery and her bridal attire was accentuated with golden and maroon jewellery and matching chooda. Yuzvendra complemented her in a cream-coloured sherwani paired with a red-coloured safa to match his bride. Sharing official wedding pictures on their IG handles, Yuzvendra and Dhanashree wrote, “22.12.20 We started at “Once upon a time” and found “Our happily ever after,” coz’ finally, #DhanaSaidYuz for infinity & beyond!”
Haldi and wedding reception pictures of Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma are trending on social media under the hashtag, #DhanaSaidYuz. For the haldi ceremony, Dhanashree and Yuzvendra had twinned in yellow as the former opted for a bright and beautiful lehenga, the latter picked a plain kurta with white pyjamas. In the haldi picture, the then-to-be married couple had posed with their wedding planning team. For the wedding reception, while Dhanashree looked gorgeous in a beautiful lehenga with her smile winning our hearts, Yuzvendra looked suave in his suited and booted look. The newly-married couple had posed with cricketer, Shikhar Dhawan and their friend, Rohit Reddy. Congratulating the newly-wedded couple, Rohit posted a picture with Dhanashree and Yuzvendra on his Instagram, and wrote, “Congratulations to this gorgeous couple! In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Dhanashree Verma had revealed the details of her love story with Yuzvendra Chahal. Sharing how it had all started, Dhanashree had said, “It started off as a student-teacher relationship in April. He had seen my dance videos on YouTube and knew about my work. During the lockdown, Yuzi decided to learn a few new things, including dance. So, he got in touch with me and we started our classes. Slowly we became friends and sort of felt a connect.” When asked who popped the question, Dhanashree had retorted, “He did and I happily agreed.”
Revealing that lockdown had given them quality time to know each other better as companions and speaking of what she likes in her fiancé, Yuzvendra Chahal, Dhanashree Verma had remarked, “Yuzi is humble, down-to-earth, friendly and a total family guy. His humility bowled me over. The kind of values I’ve been brought up with, I actually wanted someone like him as my life partner. We both are ambitious and are supportive of each other’s profession.
