On the occasion of his 45th birthday on January 10, 2019, Hrithik chose to celebrate the special day with his close ones in an intimate bash. It was even more special for Hrithik because a day before his birthday, his father Rakesh Roshan underwent surgery for cancer and it went well. In the morning, Hrithik celebrated the birthday with his parents, Rakesh and Pinkie Roshan and his son Hridhaan Roshan at the hospital.
Hrithik shared a group picture from the hospital with his father, and wrote, “And he’s up and about. Power of love! Thank you all for being with him and helping him power through. Today was a great day.”
Sharing some more glimpses of the cake-cutting ceremony at the hospital, Pinkie captioned the pictures as, “#family #birthday #wishes #hugs #joy #happiness #surgery successful #divine grace #angels #gratitude #grandchildren #blessings in life”. In a birthday wish for her beloved son, Pinkie wrote along with a childhood picture of Hrithik, “Happy birthday my son# my teddy bear #you have spread love n hugs to everyone #hugging you right back #thankyou for choosing me to be your mother #God bless #gratitude”. Later in the evening, Hrithik was spotted with his ex-wife, Sussanne Khan and his close friends, Sonali Bendre and Goldie Behl, Anu and Sunny Dewan, Sussanne'e brother Zayed Khan and his wife Malaika Parekh, and Gayatri Joshi and her husband Vikas Oberoi. Hrithik and Sussanne along with Sonali and Goldie posed for the paparazzi and were all smiles for the camera. Just two days before his birthday i.e. on January 8, 2019, Hrithik Roshan shared a picture with Rakesh Roshan and revealed that his dad has been diagnosed with the throat cancer. Hrithik wrote, “Asked my dad for a picture this morning. Knew he wouldnt miss gym on surgery day. He is probably the strongest man I know. Got diagnosed with early-stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago, but he is in full spirits today as he proceeds to battle it. As a family we are fortunate and blessed to have a leader like him. Love you Dad." Rakesh ji’s ex-bahu, Sussane Khan too, left a heart-warming comment on Hrithik’s post. It could be read as, “He is the stronger than any superhero, all will go smoothly.”
A few months ago, there were reports that Hrithik and Sussanne might get back together, but soon the latter took to her Twitter handle and cleared the air. She tweeted, "Like I always said, Hrithik and I are parents first and have to be in-sync regarding our priorities as parents in order to make sure our boys get the best upbringing. They are and always will be our main priority. So, the two of us having lunch with them doesn't mean we are holidaying together."
