Bollywood actor, Farhan Akhtar is the son of the famous writer and lyricist, Javed Akhtar and his first wife, screenplay writer, Honey Irani. He was earlier married to a hairstylist, Adhuna Bhabani, and together they have two daughters, Shakya Akhtar and Akira Akhtar. Coming to Honey Irani, she has time and again won several awards like winning the Filmfare award for Best Screenplay for the film, Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai, Filmfare award for Best Story for the film, Lamhe and many more. She recently shared her thoughts on her son, Farhan's second marriage with Shibani Dandekar in an interview.
Farhan Akhtar has been dating the model actress, Shibani Dandekar for quite some time now, and according to reports, the couple would tie the knot on February 21, 2022. Both are avid social media enthusiasts and keep on sharing glimpses of their lives on their respective social media handles. On February 8, 2022, Farhan had shared two pictures of his ladylove, Shibani Dandekar. In the pictures, Shibani had looked casual, sitting inside a car, wearing a mask. Sharing the photos, Farhan had written:
"Forever co-traveller (with a heart emoticon)."

In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Farhan Akhtar's mother, Honey Irani, opened up on her son's decision to marry his long-time girlfriend, Shibani Dandekar. She revealed that the soon-to-be-married couple had invited Honey for dinner and had shared their decision of finally tying the knot, and the whole family is excited about it. Honey said:
"They told us about it (marrying). That (dinner) happened some time back. It's a joyous occasion and I am looking forward to it. In fact, everyone in the family is looking forward to it. We are very excited."
Further in the conversation, Honey Irani was asked whether they had approved Farhan's decision or not, to which she added that they have a frank mindset and they are not the interfering types. She mentioned:
"The most important thing is that they are both very happy. I just hope they have a wonderful life; it's really nice to see they are tying the knot now. They were very serious about each other. But frankly, today, couples take some time before making the decision on marriage. We respect that. We are not the interfering types. Shibani and Farhan are both mature. We would have approved of whatever they wanted."

Honey concluded the conversation by talking about her would-be-daughter-in-law, Shibani Dandekar. She mentioned that Shibani is lovely and gorgeous, but she wants her son and daughter-in-law to be happy with each other. She explained:
"Shibani is lovely, pleasant and gorgeous; she is madly in love with Farhan. Farhan too is madly in love with her. I just hope they make and keep each other happy."
In an interview with the Bombay Times, Javed Akhtar had opened up about his son's marriage and had shared that it would be a simple wedding affair. It would take place at Javed Akhtar's family home in Khandala. They will have a few guests attending their wedding, keeping the COVID-19 protocols. The doting father had said:
"Yes, the wedding is taking place. Rest, shaadi ki jo taiyyariyan hain that is being taken care of by the wedding planners. Taking the situation into consideration it is obvious that we cannot host anything on a large scale. So, we are only calling a few people. It will be a very simple affair. Khair abhi tak toh invitations bhi nahi bheje gaye hai.”
