Two days later, on May 10, the sweet surprise of Neha Dhupia marrying her best friend Angad Bedi broke the internet. And on May 11, Bollywood music composer, singer and actor, Himesh Reshammiya secretly got married to his long-time girlfriend, Sonia Kapoor who is an actress herself.
Himesh Reshammiya and Sonia Kapoor’s wedding had long been an anticipated affair, especially after his divorce from his first wife, Komal last year. And finally, they are now husband and wife.
For the uninitiated ones, Himesh and Sonia took the wedding vows following Hindu rituals on Saturday at 1.30 am. Only close friends, family members and relatives were invited to the hush-hush wedding ceremony. A mandap was erected on the terrace of Oberoi Sky Heights where Himesh resides, and he took the saat pheras with Sonia, there itself. Reportedly, a mix of Gujarati and Punjabi cuisine was opted for the occasion. The couple is also planning to organise a reception party for their industry friends, soon in Mumbai itself.
Now, post their marriage, Himesh and Sonia are currently in Dubai enjoying their short honeymoon. The reason for their honeymoon being a short one is that Himesh has to fulfil his professional commitments. In his kitty, he also has a production lined up for the next month, the preparation for which he needs to start soon. Earlier, sharing the following pics from his wedding, Himesh took to his Instagram handle and announced to the world about his new chapter of life. He captioned his post, “Togetherness is bliss!”.
Those who do not know, it must be noted here that this is Himesh’s second marriage. He was earlier married to Komal for 22 years. On June 6, 2017, they got divorced. Komal and Himesh have a boy named Swayam who also present at his father’s second wedding.
Earlier, it was reported that Swayam is very close to Sonia. A source close to the couple had revealed to a media portal, “In fact, Himesh’s son Swayam is very close to Sonia and both are on very good terms. Swayam also visits them regularly”. Speculations about Himesh and Sonia’s marriage were rife since December 2017 when it was reported, “As of now, Himesh is tied up with work, but he and Sonia are planning to get married next year. The family likes Sonia a lot”. And now finally, they have given their fans a reason to rejoice.
