2017 too looks quite sad for some of our celebrity couples from Bollywood. After Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora and Farhan Akhtar and Adhuna Bhabani officially called it quits this year, the Bollywood celebrity who is now legally separated is Bollywood singer, music director turned actor, Himesh Reshammiya.
Himesh Reshammiya who got married in his early 20s to Komal, is now officially divorced, ending his 22-year-old marriage. Bombay High Court granted the divorce to the couple on June 6, 2017.

There was speculation about Himesh and Komal’s marriage hitting the rocks, but no official statement was released back then. But when the estranged couple who had been living separately for quite a few months were seen at a family court in Bandra, news of their separation was confirmed. The couple has a son named Swayam whom they are planning to co-parent.
Reportedly, the reason behind their divorce is a compatibility issue. It was also speculated that Himesh’s closeness to actress Sonia Kapoor was the reason why the couple decided to separate. Sonia was seen in serials like Remix, Kaisa Yeh Pyar Hai and Sati.

Speaking about the reason behind the divorce, Himesh’ wife Komal in an interview, said:
“Himesh and I completely respect each other and are jointly going with this decision to part ways legally but mutual respect will always be there for us as I am a part of his family and will always be, and the same is with him towards my family. There are compatibility issues in our marriage but we respect each other immensely. Nobody else should be dragged into this matter and nobody else is responsible for this and the reason for our marriage not working is only and only compatibility. Sonia is not responsible for this at all and our son Swaym and our family loves Sonia just like a family member.”
Himesh too, in one of the previous interviews, said that Komal was and will always be a part of his life, and so will her family. Talking about it, Himesh said:
“Sometimes in life, mutual respect becomes most important and giving due respect to our relationship, Komal and I have amicably decided to part ways legally as husband and wife and there is no problem whatsoever with this decision between us and our family, as every member of the family has respected our decision. Komal is and will always remain a part of our family and I will always be a part of her family”.
While both Himesh and Komal have stressed that the reason behind their divorce is compatibility issues, but sources, apparently have a different story to tell. Sources revealed that Himesh and Sonia have been in a relationship for the past 10 years and Himesh might be even marrying her soon.

Sonia on the other hand, chose not to comment on Himesh’s divorce. While answering a question about the divorce, Sonia said:
“Himesh’s family is my family and I love them.”
Well, Himesh and Komal’s divorce is definitely sad news, but we are happy that the exes respect each other and are handling the tough situation in such a graceful manner.
